This is the reason why Bush decided to hit Iraq instead of Afghanistan. Quite simply, the military felt that if Bush could suck Al Queda into fighting in Iraq, they could be defeated there as opposed to Afghan. It worked great and Al Queda was decimated in Iraq.

It was a stroke of genius....

Gotta disagree, it was an act of pre emptive war. It didn't need to happen and cost alot of money and alot of suffering.

This site has conservative estimates on body counts. Check it out.

So according to that site Med is fudging his facts by a factor of 10. Either that or the site is so conservative it counts 1 body for every 10 it finds?

IMO we need to get out of wars. The people of those countries see America as the enemy, not the Taliban or Al'queda. They have long memories and you will see backlash events for the next century due to it. It only breeds more terrorists every day.

it was NOT a pre emptive war. It was the same verse same as the first. Remember desert storm 1? Saddam had been given FAIR notice..... he pushed it, and we answered.

Call it what you will. I don't believe the United States has any business being the world police. I'd also question the constitutionality of some of our military actions. I'm not a pacifist, I just don't think we gain anything by an interventionist foreign policy.

The USA isn't the world police, but considering the alternatives....it's the best police possible. Don't worry, someday there will be the Chinese police world force....I'm sure you'll love it.

You seem to want both sides...are we the world police in your opinion or not?

Hard to deny us being the world police in my opinion. We still occupy Germany, Japan, Korea many years later. The USA has over 700 bases on foreign soil. Not to mention we spend almost as much as the rest of the world combined on "defense".

I agree someday the Chinese may surpass us in many things...maybe we should pre emptively attack them now? :fire:

I guess you have to define world police. Our system is everywhere and we protect our interest wherever they may lie. If someone tramples upon one of our allies, we are there to help. Should other nations do more than give lip service via the UN? You bet....but don't hold your breath. Resolutions don't defeat dictators....

Why do all of the Bush haters love Obama so much when Obama has just as much blood on his hands as Bush?
The Bush haters also loved Kerry who said that he'd 'smoke the terrorists out of their caves'?

Obama is a murderous fuck just as much as Bush. And it just goes to show that the global agenda continues, independent of who is in the White House.

Wake up morons. Obama and the media have lulled you into a trance. Wake up and fight for what is right.

If you think it is right to continue to blow up little brown people, then fine, continue driving around with your Obama stickers on your car, right next to your 'war is not the answer' stickers.
