I was reading an interesting article about why the Democrats are going to lose the majority vote in the Senate next month, and that taken with the fact that the House of Representative is already dominated by Republicans, would make this Congress totally controlled by the GOP. That should be fun to watch, in a macabre way This situation doesn't bode well for the average family though, as it seems that every time the Republicans get control of anything, the top 5% gain a LOT in net worth, while the income levels of lower and middle classes decline.
So what does that mean for a Democrat running for office.? That means you are going to lose. Why, you might ask? If the rich get richer with a Republican in office, why would I vote for him (assuming that you are not a masochist), if I'm in the middle class? Because you are a dummy, and believe everything the Republicans tell you, all of it.
Back to the point of that article. It points out that actually Obama has done a pretty good job at rectifying the economic disaster left to him by a what? A Republican? HOLY SHIT! The stock market has been doing very well, employment is down, job creation is up, and the GDP has increased respectfully. But one thing is sticking in the craw of the average American. Growth in income for the MAJORITY has been less than half of the previous 4 president that had 2 terms in office.

So who, or what do you blame? Do you blame Republicans that refused to grant pay raises to federal employees? Do you blame Republicans for fighting against any increase in the minimum wage? Nope, you blame the Democrats, the ones that were trying to put more money in the pockets of the American worker.
This is a new age we are living in, with robots and computers that have and are going to continue to replace workers. This combined with outsourcing and overseas manufacturing, has signaled the end of an accepted fact of American life. Work hard, and get ahead. It now is work hard, hopefully stay afloat (if you start to sink, get a couple of more jobs), and watch your employer get really rich.
Just watch, the Republicans are going to win the Presidency in 2016, the wealthy will gain more wealth, and a greater gap in income will ensue. We will go to war (Republicans love war, makes lot's of money) and the economy tanks for the majority. Then the voters wise up, throw the Repubs to the curb, elect Democrats, watch the Republicans again block anything proposed by a Democrat, no one but the rich does well, the voters toss the Democrats to the curb and the cycle starts over again.
Repeatedly doing something harmful to ones self, and expecting a different result from that action, is one definition of insanity, right? Well, this country is fucking nuts.

How did the top 5% do under Obama compared to the rest??

How much better are blacks doing under Obama?

There are a bunch of myths perpetrated by the Democrats such as the poor will be better off under them when it simply is not true.

To reply to the original OP....

The House and Senate will remain gridlocked with the president although if Obama goes too far there is a chance of impeachment. If there are any nominees for the supreme court for the last 2 years they will have to be much more moderate than the president would like to allow passage.

Things are not going to get better until the government stops turning the screws on business.

This has nothing to do with republican or democrat, its the fiat money system and the lack of rule of law in the financial markets.
I will 100% agree that if Congress and the President are Republicans, there will be a shit storm, same as if there were exclusive Dem control. We certainly do not need any more laws, what we really need are enforcement of the laws we already have. There is so much illegal shit going on in the markets, with the way GAAP is used, with the way financial reporting is done, high frequency trading, co-mingling funds, naked shorting derivatives markets etc etc etc $650 BILLION "fat Finger" episodes that go unpunished, companies reporting recurring expenses as one time non recurring expenses to boost their EPS. The fundamentals went out the window when the Federal Reserve started it's QE. The business cycle is about 7-8 years, which coincides with 2 term presidents.

If they gain control of both houses. They will tie all kinds of crap onto bills that benefit their wealthy supporters

It's important to note that big government does not calculate the unemployment rate today, the same as they did decades ago. In other words, comparing the unemployment rate under different presidents would give Obama a huge advantage.

Dow Jones down 400 points today. Airlines are losing stock holders. I wonder why. Could it be Ebola? No way, can't be that. That would be racist

No, retard, the Democrats are blaming the Republicans for cutting funding for medical research that could have led to an ebola vaccine
You don't think there is politics in medicine? Even more so with Obamacare? LOL You're funny to think that Democrats could be competent enough to create a vaccine with ANY amount of funding!

Talking politics with conservatives is like talking physics with preschoolers..

The Democrats aren't the ones developing the vaccine, obviously.. Scientists are, and now with less funding because Republicans blocked it.

Yup! Democrats and their scientists, and the CDC. Those are the stooges we can trust. Sure. The government hasn't done shit! The private sector could do it WAY FASTER.

The fuck are you talking about?

It's pretty clear you don't understand how the scientific process works if you think there are Democrat scientists and Republican scientists..

Science doesn't give a shit about your political affiliation. The reason Republicans don't like science is because it destroys their traditional values by the day; homosexuality & gay marriage, abortion and womens rights, the war on drugs and the prison industrial complex, and on and on and on..

Republicans are forced to concede to every logical conclusion science reaches, more often than not, without them. They bitch, cry scream and complain, then they lose votes, then they finally accept the defeat.

Democrats and Republicans pass votes in Congress and the Senate that directly contributes to research funding, and since Republicans are against science, they vote against it.
