I think you are best off with a 315 CMH, they are designed to do a 3x3 area and i know a few people getting over a pound per 315 , which is extremely impressive. If you want to stick to LED's i'd recommend the timber COB frameworks, best bang for the buck.

But I can build it myself and get more and it be cheaper??? Plus I really don't want to have to buy stuff for temp management with a lec 315. Yeah, the lec 315 is appealing and I have seen great results from it from other people it's for sure My second option.

There are no temp issues with a 315. You get an affordable plug and play light with a proper complete spectrum of light.

You can also get an A/C hood if you deem it necessary but that is rarely the case. You need to listen to people who have actually used the lights they're talking about and not guys going off of bro science and have no experience.

But if you are going to go COB I commend you for taking the DIY route.

The 315w LEC is probably the only HID-type light I'd consider using. Not trying to talk shit or be snooty. Just a thought.

I highly doubt you can build an LED to cover a 3x3 for cheaper than you can buy a 315 CMH , and they don't put off much heat.
