urine for your nitrogen source

I have been reading article after article about using your urine as a nitrogen source. It not only is a good nitrogen source but also is high in your phos.
You are suppose to dilute it 10/1 ratio.
Anyone in organic growing try this with your grow????
I tested it out on house plants and a week later ...well...wow.
Any thoughts?????
I took a shit in a pot once. Cus i was in a secret grow room where they let vicious dogs out in the hallways where the rest rooms where. So i kinda dint have a choice.

This reminds me of an episode of trailer park boys only a little different.
Two suggestions. 0.6% diluted by 20 is 0.03% which is 300ppm. That is lockout level sodium. The problem is compounded by the sodium staying in the soil ... cumulative lockout.

The other is plant-specific. Lots of house and garden plants are quite tolerant of sodium and can use the nitrogen. I pee on my lawn regularly. However Cannabis is quite sodium-sensitive, like say Arctostaphylos species. So sodium plus plants OK except when the plants are no good at shedding it.
okay then....that makes more sense. Sooo since I have a bag of urea 45-0-0. how much do you think I should put in a gallon of water? Like an 1/8 of a teaspoon???

I've never had the need for that much nitrogen.
I grow mostly organic, ff cocoloco base + compost tea's/topdress @ wk2 flower.

Are you growing in miracle grow or hydro? Just trying to understand why a cannabis plant would need that much nitro...

no im growing in aged composted manure cut with alphalpha mixed with biotone starter plus (organic) fox farms happy frog bulb food and epsom salts. When I did a nute test it showed a little weak on the N side. I was just wanting to use a good nitro boost like maybe twice in the veg stage while its outside. We get a lot of rain this time of year and nitrogen gets washed out pretty easily.

I would do this by weight. I have no clue what the bulk density of the urea you have on hand is. So ...

I would first decide how much N. More than a 50 ppm boost I would not recommend. 50 ppm is 50 milligrams of N in a liter of water, so 110 mg (call it 100 mg; makes life simpler with no issues for the plants) of urea in a liter ... 400 mg in a gallon. That might be somewhere around 1/8 teaspoon, but I would be sure to check the volume by weight before giving my plants that first drink. N is quickly toxic, so even doubling that urea could scorch'em over one day. Approach cautiously from the underfed side, is my advice.

Have a milligram scale. Here is one I like ... cheap and good. It's nice to have such an instrument.

as far as the other people that advise heavily against it, I simply don't agree with them.
I don't think it's a terrible idea to use urine, but wouldn't you agree that there are better sources of N for your plants? Sodium levels, potential for pathogens, urinary tract infections, etc. I mean blood meal is a fine source of highly soluble N as well, but there are some potentially negative drawbacks with that too. Same with Guano's.

I'm sure it works, but I could think of dozens of other sources of NPK that I'd use before urine that are free (or very cheap).

oh hell-fuckin-yeah my friend! alfalfa, comfrey, rabbit manure, nettles, even blood meal i'd use before urine, but if you needed a 100% soluble and available nitrogen, it's not a bad choice at all.
you guys know me
I was simply trying to get the poor OP some info without flaming her..
for christs sake some people on this site are well beyond ignorant (and I of course I am not directing that towards you)
but she asked a simple question if someone has used it before and their experience regarding it.
after all that's the sole purpose of this site, no?

ignorance would be me not believing it worked without any kind of personal research,i never ever said that,i just cant feed my plants with my own urine because i couldnt enjoy smoking the final product, not that its bad for me,its just the thought of knowing urine was used, before you use a word have a general understanding of its definition.....

definition of irony....being ignorant of the word ignorant!lol

i used to do a lot of ice fishing tournaments when i was younger with my father,we both fished in the world ice fishing championship, and my dad founded and ran the canadian ice fishing championship for 11 years....when we fished together i kept maggots in a pill bottle and kept down my pants to keep them warm and active,my dad kept them in his mouth!did it work?absolutely!but i could never do it cause it grossed me out.....now does that make me ignorant?u tell me
