anything you post now about leds and any of the good things that i could get from them i wouldn't be able to see, because i remember all that crap that you directed to individuals..

i was really hoping to at least learn something about an led grow. like how about how you position the lights so that every part of the plant is soaking up the light to there fullest potential. or what about reducing that large unusable footprint that ufo's can produce?


so rayver, what are you thinking now about these lights and what we've learned?

this was a really good question. I was actually thinking this would could make a grow with LED's better. there much easier to maniulate and control being that there solid state. i think this is the right path to growing with LED's.

you could even go as far as during veggin - the blue lights operate 3/4 of the time while the red burns the remaining 4th. this would be similar to a cfl grow with 3/4 the lights in the 6500K

and the other way around would be close to the aegrow bulb thing that emmits 30% 6000K along with the normal red's as an hps bulb.

Now there's a reasonable post. And I'd be happy to answer those questions.

First, these are my veg lights...



And this is the inside of the tote with a freshly rooted clone...


The spread out LED bars and the mylar distribute the light pretty evenly. What you hear about LEDs lacking penetration is bull... Two layers of 2mil mylar and in the pitch darkness, the tote still glows purple...

As for the UFO... there's not much you can do. Put mylar underneath and all around... and save up for an HPS or build your own LEDs...

I do apologize to those I've offended. I'm a type A personality, even when stoned... If I would have known CC made you join to see my grow log, I wouldn't have been quite as big of a dick though... still my bad...

on a side note- i had ordered 1 mil mylar. it looks like your 2 mil is 10 times thicker than mine. is it just the way it looks or is it really kinda moldable??

Its flowering, so now it goes UV on for an hour, then blue comes on, a half hour later the red comes on. They all stay on for 11 hours, then all but the red turns off... then after an hour, the red goes off... 11 and a half hours and it starts over...

Vegging, they're on 24/7... but just red/blue.

Yeah, its nice. World of difference over 1mil mylar... I use spray adhes.. heas.. glue... and it just molds right to the tote... You have to cut it in the right shapes though, but it is nice...

i've been thinking of a plc controlled grow. ever look into what it would take to automate the watering? i checked it out a bout 3 years ago and it wasn't that expensive to diy.

That's my idea. The reasoning behind it has to do with Pr and Pfr. The red at the end maximizes the Pfr and the UV/Blue start of the cycle preserves the Pr for as long as possible. I've got another tote that's going UV/blue 24/7 and red 12/12 with 5 second bursts of far red every 10 minutes the red LEDs are off. So far, its looking good, but these plants I did sort of a micro super cropping, so they look stranger than the Jack Herer grow log plant. And I've taken no end of shit over that friggin plant, fuck if I'm showing the odd ball stuff...
