ok thanks. the big grow was for the hydrophonics and the big bloom was for soil i think i look it up agin. now when there flowering do i have to do any thing special or no? like clipping something on the plant? bottom fans perhaps etc....

I've been around I just get sick of answering the same questions over and over....

I like your grows pretty nice...

I just popped 3 LR2 seeds into my new aerogarden pro 200...

Can't wait for results...

I wanna get a male so I can get a bunch of LR2 seeds, that'd be cool...

I'll keep everyone updated and prob start a journal or somthing soon...

Peace

cool man. yea i know what ur talkin about man, everyone sees my ag grow and i get pm's all the time. nobody wants to read through your journal and figure it out, they just wana get the answers quick and be on with it. i know where your comin from, def. keep us posted with your new grow

Yea I think I should make a link that answers the basics all in one page. That way I don't have to type it out everytime. I'm beggining to wonder if my small plant was stunted or if that's how it's gonna grow. I still got 4 seeds left from that strain, so I'll see next time. If so, I'd like to get some males like you said.

i've been reading through this thread(the buds look pretty good man) and it got me wondering. would it be possible to start the plants off in the aerogarden for the vegatative period and then transplant them into pots for flowering? might be a dumb question but i've never seen and aerogarden up close nor do i have any experience with hydroponics.

That's exactly what I plan to do next time! Except I will start in soil, and take clones. Root them in the AG, and flower back in the soil. If they can handle it, I'll be very pleased. :blsmoke:

cool man. i just didnt know if it would be possible to get the plants out of the AG without harming them. i would think you would be able to grow eight at a time that way too since you wouldn't have to worry about them getting too big.

If I was cloning, it would be very easy to get them out. The roots wouldn't be that big. The AG holds 7 plants, but I don't know how many I can do at a time. Probably 4 at a time and get them ready to flower before I switch to soil.

Ok, i am going to start over. unfortunately, i did not follow the aerogarden recommendations on planting, and i think i payed for it. I germinated the seeds in a paper towel like i have seen friends and people on here do, and i planted those in the AG media. The AG directions say to use a small dab of school glue on the seed in the media and to germinate in the AG. I assume this is to have the seeds properly root in the media. Mine pushed right out and fell over. After i gently placed them back in, three of the seven took root, but none of them grew beyond an inch out of the media. They all looked as if they had nute burn and were dehydrated. (i didnt add anything till week 2 and even that was 1/4 the amount that fox farms sais to add) half of them also got a large white fuzz on them as they got sick. So, i have a few questions before i start again (i think im going to buy seeds this time as well so i know they will germinate as only 1/2 of my last batch did)

1. How have the people who have had success w/ the aerogarden germinated, planted their seeds? (use glue?)
2. How long till they sprouted above the media?
3. Did you add any nutes the first/second week, and if so, how many and what type? (i have both the AG nutes atm and a full set of Fox Farms)
4. How long did you keep the AG plastic cap over the plants? (i think i took mine off too early and they began to dry out)
5. What was that white fuzz that some of the plants got when they died?
6. Should i be putting up my mylar around the AG during initial growth, or should i wait till the plants are a few inches?
7. Can too much superthrive kill plants? I may have put in a tad too much when i added mine. Im going to be getting a dropper to use for all nutes from now on.

I dont want to make any of these mistakes a second time round :)

1. I germinated in paper towels for about 1-2 days, then inserted the seeds into their pods (no glue).
2. They sprouted in a few days...maybe a week.
3. I DID add nutes, but this caused nute burn. Try doing NO NUTES for the first 2 weeks.
4. I kept the plastic cap over then until I saw the cotyledons split and the first two leaves emerging (maybe less than a week). I doubt taking it off caused yours to "dry" out.
5. That white fuzz formed on all of the seeds that didn't germinate, but as for the ones that did, I didn't see fuzz. Don't know exactly what it is, probably fungus or mold.
6. If you plan to use mylar, I would prepare the room before the grow. It just saves time and potential problems, and you don't want to have move your AG around too much (this causes stress).
7. I've never used superthrive to start seedlings. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a rooting hormone right? I would use it for clones, and that's about it.

Good luck next time,
WoW

Thanks for the quick reply :)

I have the AG against a wall of Flat White paint. What i did w/ the mylar was to grab a "highschool science fair project board" thing and glue mylar to it. I then can put that facing the AG and the wall surrounding it. It should work well :)

Superthrive is a plant hormone additive, not a cloning hormone. Many people seem to use it during germination. I will not be using anything till week 2 this time.

Also, you keep a 24h light cycle from seed till flowering right?
and how large should they be at week 2? a few inches or more?

thanks :)

Now for the current stuff... Here's 11 weeks from seed. With my airstone running, I somehow added too much water... pic 1 is a result of what happened. Going into the grow I estimated 12 weeks total, but to me it doesn't look quite ready for harvest. Plus I haven't started to flush yet. I'm thinking about going one more week with nutes and then 2 weeks with water only. Any suggestions? I'm starting to see a lot of trichs but they are all clear pretty much, and only a few orange/red hairs here and there. I'm just trying to determine when I should stop using nutes. :blsmoke:

Thats week 2???

Yea i messed up :)

How can the plants grow so large with only water for the first two weeks? Those seem rather large to just be running off reserves from the seed pods.

I actually used 1 of the starting tablets at the beginning. As you can see the one in the back-left is stunted. That one is now the female that's only like 8" and growing a single bud at the top. I probably stunted it with the nutes, and that's why it's not producing much bud...then again it could just be a dwarf strain. We'll see next time.
