I use the Ag as well it is just as said by many just a great learning tool. I am taking my pump out as well, that is a great idea. It seems to over water anyways and I keep it unplugged + you need the room for roots, and The bubbles from the airpump keep my rockwool wet enough. I only use the Ag lights for small clones and seedlings then go to hid then hps. If anybody does take the pump out i reccomend putting it back in for seedlings and until clones root! Also i agree with the post earlier fox farms big bloom is not very good the nutrients do not dissolve well at all. the big bloom is great and has all the macro and microelements anyways. If you insist on using the big bloom in the Ag dont shake the bottle just use the tea at the top.

Hope this helps

I do not grow any plants i have a very vivid imagination that i like to share with people. I am also off my medication!!!

Okay, since we're on discussion about roots and all, i might as well put this question out there... Like you've seen before i got 5 plants in the system right now (im including new pics below). Ive read that every one has been successful with 3, so i might need to make some changes.

Pic 1 is AK-47, its the smallest out the bunch, but its fought thru some haaard times, and now the roots are actually growing much better

Pic2 is blueberry x bubblegum (DELICIOUS  ), its the second smallest, and its looking pretty good besides the burns it suffered at birth.

pic 3 (back) is my baby, white widow x superskunk, looking very vibrant, the only plant with no nute burn.

pic 3 (front) is also AK-47, and its catching up pretty quickly to pic 4, and the roots are also beasting (root pic, on right)

pic 4 is the beast, AK- 47, nice fat indica leaves, with a big root system already (in the pis showing roots, its on the left)

So what do you suggest... i am a botanist guru when it comes to outdoors and soil, but the climate isnt warm enuff whea im at just yet, but to prevent me from wasting good seeds, advice is WELL WELL appreciated...

by the way this the middle of week 3... still havent put in my pump and airstone, and the lights are in the box... but i wanted this to be with AG tools only, well see what happens.... :hump:
the plants look ok but brown roots is bad!!!/ also expect your plants to triple in size through flowering i start mine when they are 4 nodes tall and almost always come out with 3-4 foot plants, also try not to open your res when the lights are on, your roots will all grow together and create a huge problem

Hey r32115, where can i get some thuricide? I dunno if my roots are infested, but I'm getting suspicious. I see little white spots on my sponge.

a simpler solution would be to just give the roots a good bath in a h202 solution, and clean the rez also an airstone to create more oxygen for the roots. (h202) hydrogen peroxide you probably already have some in med cabinet

the roots arent brown, the pic was just distorted by the light, there like off white, and like jellyfish tentacles..

as for your pics, what are you a mad scientist or somethin? haha, the last pic looks wonderful, definatly not tryna have a magic beanstalk in my closet, just a nice short bushy plant. im going to start tieing them down when i set up the cfls.

only use agricultural grade h2o2 don't use otc stuff it helps but also kills active good bacteria in your nutrients airstones are great for the roots witch need o2 but h2o2 can drop a plant like that!!! and it doesn't kill parasites or fungus

Oh yea, as you can see, my little run wasn't getting enough light...so i creatively mounted the old AG fixture and lowered it down to get more light to that little plant. That little one looks like much better bud, can't have it missing out on the light!

me and my friends have been using the aero garden and were on week 3. we have two plants in it and there is about 5 different sets of leaves. there about 6 inches tall. if we want to complete this grow without having to modify the aero garden to make it taller should we start flowering now?

I flowered at 3.5 weeks, my plants were like 10 inches tall. They are now like 3ft, and I have to have extra light. If you're only 6 inches at 3 weeks, i'd say flower soon. You'll prolly outgrow the lid though. Plus if you only have 2 plants, you don't have a good chance of getting a female (assuming you grew from seed).

MORE LIGHT!!!! you got mad stretching going on also look into red spectrum t-5, or high output cfl full spectrum. if you continue with that amount of light you will come out with sticks and puffs.

I've got 8 CFLs, 4 red/4 blue spectrum. I'm keeping them as close as I can, they just keep growing. Only more light i can do is individual CFLs hanging to get the lower buds. I think the stretchy plant is just like that genetically. I don't think it will be too bad though.
