Starting with Aerogarden (my first grow, advice appreciated)

AG tablets all the way!!!

Just pop the seeds in pointy side down....

Put em about halfway into the medium maybe a little less...

And don't give it 24 hours light untill a couple days after it sprouted....

Dont use glue...

Split the foam cylinders completly in half somtimes helps but somtimes isn't neccesary...

Careful with the AG nutes...If you have fox farm use that according to their schedule half strength/gal for the first few weeks...

Check PH often and keep it very steady...

I read in a published scholarly journal that 24 hours is the best way to start from seedling to the first 2 weeks. I ran mine 24hrs for the first 3.5 weeks.

after 3 and a half weeks, what did you set it to? 12/12 to flower? I thought you wanted to veg longer than that.

Well I think that when it's still a seed it shouldn't have any light hitting it....I dunno What do you think?

I'd start flowering 2 weeks after it sprouts...This is to keep it as short as possible...thus making it easier to manage

Yep, 12/12 to flower. I didn't want to veg too long, because I don't have enough lighting to grow bigger than what I got. When you flower, the plants triple in size. It was like 10-11 inches, now it's almost 3ft. If I had waited longer, it could have gotten really huge. I just don't have good enough lighting to flower a 6ft female.

Well the buds seem to be thickening up nicely. I have no idea how much longer it will take. I figure I should stop using nutes soon, but I don't really know...will post more pics on monday.

Anyways, purp is the flava of the week. Ran across this the other day, smokin REAL good.

Alright here we are 12 weeks from seed. It's been about 7 weeks since I saw my first white pistil. I was planning on flushing, starting today. Should I go ahead and flush or wait another week? I was thinking of harvesting in two weeks (9 weeks flowering), but then I've read 10 weeks of flowering is best. It looks like my tops are gonna finish a lot quicker than the bottom nugs. I may do like Dave and chop the top half first. Anyways, things are looking really good. The trichs are all over the buds, and they seem to be clouding up a tiny bit at the top. But there are still some tiny hairs, which makes me think the plant is still making calyxes. Some of the top calyxes are fattening up, but the bottom ones and the ones at the tip are all prickley/spiney looking.

Please give me some advice so i don't screw this up.

dude they look great, that one plant is fuckin tall nice colah on it too. i went around 70 days with my first harvest then another like 12ish days until the second and doing that second harvest definetely helped, the buds gained at least 1/3 of the orig. size wich adds up. but yea man ide keep 'em goin, there aint from what i can see in the pics alot of orange hairs yet so you should be good to wait it out. but your the grower, just with me it was hard to all of a sudden pick 'em after waiting so long. but eventually you gotta call it quits.

Tall one is about 3 ft. tall. The dwarf is only like 8 inches.

13 Weeks from seed/8 Weeks Flowering

I started the flush today. Lately these girls have been quite stinky. I've touched one of the lower nugs, and it's sticky as hell and smelling very nice. But today after I changed the water, I noticed that the plant smells "leafy" like grass or something. I mean, you can smell the buds if you get up in there or if you touch a nug. I guess this is normal, but I'm just hoping that the buds don't end up tasting like that. Most of my trichs are cloudy, and I'm gonna let them go another two weeks. A lot of the hairs are still white (especially on the lower buds), which makes me question how close I am to harvest. But some of the hairs on the top cola are looking pink and a few orange.

Not yet, I plan to let them flush for two weeks.

14 Weeks from seed/ 9 Weeks flowering

I've been flushing for 1 week now, and they still don't quite look ready. This plant is flowering slower than I expected. Most of my trichs are cloudy. I've seen only a few amber, but the pistils are still only 35% or so orange. Just doesn't look ready to me, but next week will be 70 days since I saw my first pistil. Oh well, I guess I'll still plan on cutting em down next week but we'll see. I'm sure it will be some fire smoke anyways, because now the buds are stanky and sticky as hell too.
