can anyone who has used and or continues to use gravity and purple max please let me know how its working out for them.

also anyone using house and garden products?
The gravity and Purple Max are great products and work well-------House and Garden is great but more geared toward hydro---great stuff!!!.

Alrighty. Soil grower. Indoor for the first time coming up within the week.

I was told I'm going to need to a PH/PPM meter. Can anyone explain PPM to me?

Also, will the entire Fox Farms line-up work well for my first harvest?

I plan on using it throughout my first grow.

Fox Farm Ocean Forest, Grow Big, Big Bloom, Tiger Bloom, Open Sesame, Beastie Budz, Cha Ching.

I've only had one other grow besides this and unfortunately I harvested my plant a few weeks early and it was my first grow so I'm not sure how effective the nutes where. Although during veg, the grow big made them very lush and full.

ppm is parts per milimeter - prettymuch gives u a breakdown of how much shit is kickin about in there - parameter of numbers to keep inside , ways 2 correct when u go out of em . . its a way of breakin down nutes micro nutes and everythin else into an easier to process way by giving u numbers , or thats how id giv it to joe public- im totally zomked right now tho so i could be talkkin shit.
if u get the same brand nutes they tend to work in synergy better .
i need to give gravity and purple max a try for sure ( especially with the durban poison )
house and garden good for the hydro huh ? im gona hav a look for that 2.
feel like an ass for not seeing this thread earlier either.

cheers peoples

So higher the PPM, the hotter the nutes?

Why would I want my PPM to go up throughout the grow? I saw someones feeding schedule and PPM started low and got higher.

How does Advanced Nutrients VHO work for mothers. I want to turn 3-4 clones into 60 clones. About how long will this take?

higher ppm is due to the plant needing more as she grows , only takes so much to spout( for which all the nutes are inside the seed) a little more to veg away but a good bit more to flower ( especially if u want tasty buds)
ill hopefully have sum lived thorugh feedback on preffed nutes, but as now iv only tried hollands advanced hydro ,
not sure whats best for mothers ( u lookin for something to improve the health/speed/chances of ur clones) or jus to keep her going? aslong as its not superbloom or a specific flowerin mix she should be ok , scope the organic section for sum alternatives ( u may already have them)
sorry i cant be much help , i can barely help myself

the nutes will work great-----use 1/4 strenght or 250ppms for the first week after the 2 week period of seedling growth----then up the ppm by 50 with every other feed(FF nutes instruct you to water and feed with every other watering)----

So higher the PPM, the hotter the nutes? you will control the ppms by adding more or less nutes to a specific amount of h20.

Why would I want my PPM to go up throughout the grow? I saw someones feeding schedule and PPM started low and got higher. tender young plants need less nutriants---as the plants get bigger and the roots grow they need nuteiants.

How does Advanced Nutrients VHO work for mothers. I want to turn 3-4 clones into 60 clones. About how long will this take?
VHO does work-----it will take as long as your clones take to root plus the time your mother will take to be ready for clones.

Thanks for the awesome insite on how to do my nutes! Now I now know!

Gotta go buy a PPM/PH meter. :D thanks DR!

Yeah... And along with the higher PPM you also have to lower it at the end of feeding... If you know what a "bell curve" is, that's exactly what you wanna do... Start light, peak in the middle of flowering, and taper off at the end.

From seed it took two months to have 60 clones, so since you're starting at clone, then it should take a little less time.

VHO will help the mothers grow faster, but it will also make her stretch.

And the Fox Farm line is working well for me, I grew with Advanced Nutes for 7 years, decided to give the other companies a chance, so far I've got no problems.

Mr Howard thank you very much! I know EXACTLY what the bell curve is and I wish they used it while I was still in school!! tehehehe

I think im going to ScroG with my legal plant count @ 12 plants (6 under each 600w) that way I dont have to worry about taking clones for a SoG.

I looked at your jornal and I hope you stick around to help me, MrHoward :)

Soil Growers: I was curious if anyone continues to use grow nutes along with flower nutes while flowering or just only flower nutes. The reason I ask is I have a bottle of MG that I use for my other house plants and the NPK numbers are really high compared to my liquid organic nutes for my other plants. My flower nutes are like 5-10-5 and the MG is like 24-18-16, is this why allot of people burn thier plants using MG? Ive never nute burned a plant before.

You looking for a ppm feeding/schedule chart?---lets see if I can find one for ya--------------------

some manufactures recommend an overlap in their feeding schedule-----MG is not liked by many growers but burn would be more likely caused by a higher dose or ratio ppm giving to the plants than just the nutrient's ratio itself---hope that makes some sense...

Yea that makes sense, I flushed my plant when I transfered it to bloom nutes. I dunno if that was a good idea or not but, im thinkin about throwing a little MG nutes at her because Ive heard the micronutes in it are great. But I havent decided yet and she eats tomorrow.

Great over all read, I use powerfeed and seasol, alternatively with cow poo juice and lifter juice. I foliar spray with a light seasol/powerfeed/worm juice from worms living in an old bath filled with cow poo and a lil dirt.

That shit is scary becarefull. make sure it is such a small dose.

Yep, and if you're going with MG you might want to go with a different formula, the high nitrogen version you're using is more for veg, in flower you want the higher potassium and phosphorous... I think the MG for Acid loving plants is what you should use if you're using MG, there's pics of Orchids on it... But I definately don't recommend MG.

The really high NPK numbers on MG are because it's a synthetic concentrate... The organic bloom nutes have such low NPK numbers because they are mostly poop, and fish, and there isn't that much NPK...

- And parts per million= (TDS)...it's a measurement of the total dissolved solids = (TDS)...also known as The Electro Conductivity = (EC)

Basically it's an electronic measurement of how much shit is in your water.
