Bro your running some 3590's that are driven harder the the DIY guys run them, ( nothing wrong with that), but the addition of the UV may be why the plant is now curling away from the light power, its the begining of light burn I say begining because the leafs first defense is the curling,, before real damage is done,,
my guess,, and its just a guess,, is the cobs are so powerful that the idea of adding even more light sent the light power over the edge,, thats just how good the cobs are with growing dope

Yeah I will leave the UV off for the time being and when I re introduce it not run it the entire light cycle.

A lot of the DIY guys have a bunch more COB's than I in the same spaces too ............

Its funny because before adding the uv light I was thinking of moar COB's but it is becoming evident to me I need to get my temps under control first and that's not going to happen with this tent in this garage. So I'm going to have to move the tent or build out a room as planned, unless I turn my office into a grow room lol........

What's the protocol guys if setting up a room that uses the central a.c. of the house.............

Well if you can move the tent inside with AC the air will be cooler and dryer to some extent. I remember SupraSPL touched on another benefit often overlooked in that mammalians generate CO2. I have observed my bedroom over night with a CO2 monitor and the ppm got as high as 1000-1200. This is not mission critical but an interesting tid bit all the same. I have an intake vent central to all the bedrooms that provides air to my main flowering room.
I think @Tim Fox had the right idea, back the lights off for a bit and observe. Maybe put the UV on a timer and gradually increase the length of exposure.

Hope you solve the issue.

Cheers,
Will

Yes the issue will get solved just a matter of how. There's no reason for a four COB light to be maxing.out this space right now I was going to mess with adding more lighting to raise ppfd for flower across the canopy........

I turned off the UV yesterday and raised the lights as well and we shall see. If adding just the UV did this because of temps then there's no way I'd be able to add any more COB's so the temp is now an issue.

So I decided out of curiosity to open up my Hydroponics Hut ProGro 260 LED light, and I'll be damned if it isn't just like the Mars light that @Growmau5 shows the hack for in his youtube video. Maybe this is why HH is so shady about info on their lights?

Is this worth retrofitting with COB's or should I try to sell it on Flebay and use the funds for something else?

How do I know what the three drivers can push?

The drivers should have a sticker on them. Have you removed one from the case to check? I am retrofitting a few old fixtures at the moment, more for fun than any particular need. Do you need another fixture? If you can fetch good coin for it, shift it. When I googled it the price new was $369. That is a nice weekend dining out and a movie or two with your partner or perhaps one of these to help you manage that sativa.

If your are a real naughty boy it could pay for a night of debauchery involving some hookers and crack.
I must admit looking at the photo if it were mine I would have a play at retrofitting. Don't listen to me though as at times I believe I have more money than common sense.

Cheers,
Will

Yeah let me see what happens on selling it first and then I will take it from there. I will have to remove the drivers and see if there is a sticker on the bottom of it as there is nothing visible on the outside.

As for the chainsaw, I'm afraid if the tips of the blade are not carbide the Sativa will just eat up the saw lol....... :P

Question for anyone who might know?

How long would it take a plant to recover (if it does at all) from burning from light? Since it's in flower will this issue fix itself? Something I need to do ? Still early in flower though so fingers crossed, but at the same time don't want to be working towards something that's not gonna happen waste of time and resources.

All you can do is raise your light a lil more, is it leaves or buds that are burned?

its cool then homie, just raise the light up....takes getting used to the intensity of LED footprint :) I would say 12-18" above canopy and you should be golden....good luck on your flowering, hope you pull a massive harvest!

Thanks yeah my LED's have been 18" away the whole time I was messing with a UV bulb the other day and that's what did it, but I think it's because my temps are high as is and the UV made it too hot.

The first time I used UV (reptile) lights, they burned one of my plants, and it was the shortest plant that was the furthest from the light -- some plants are more sensitive to them than others. If I recall correctly, you went with RM3's advice and got some quality made-for-plants UV lights, so this is probably not the case with them... but the reptile ones have radically inconsistent output across their lives. In the beginning (sorry, don't recall the time in terms of hours of use) they can produce way more UV light than they are rated for, and then they will diminish in output over time. So I have to put mine really high for the first month or so, and then I can start to drop them lower. Did your bulbs come with a recommended "break in" period where you are supposed to use them higher than at their "normal" distance? I'm betting not. When the reptile bulbs I have now are burned out I'll replace them with what you're using.

No there was nothing but instructions on getting it hooked up and removing the plastic they came wrapped in. I do not want to turn the UV back on until the plant looks better, the top layer of the Sativa looked crispy lol and the leaves are a yellow/brown color. I will get pics up tonight.

I still think my temps are part of the issue........

I ordered the Phillips Pure UV bulb with a single bulb fixture from HTG. It's no ones fault but my own I guess if you want to call it fault. I should have checked on the plant more often. Now I know the light needs to be higher lol. I just didn't want the LED light lower than the UV in the way so to speak. I was being hard headed is all.

I know what you mean. My first grow was CFLs and the whole object of those things is to keep them about 2-4" from the plants, so when I saw my CFL UV lights I thought they were harmless. UV is a whole other world.

As I quickly learned. Hopefully this didn't screw up the crops. Will put me much further behind schedule of smoking my own meds and make me have to buy again..........

My first grow/record calendar starts with clones bought on 2/7/15, and on April 21st there's a big red dot with a note that says "last time we bought MM". My patient(/wife) goes through an ounce(+) every three weeks, we haven't had to buy it since then. You'll get there, and its a really good feeling.
