Closer pic of the auto's from a moment ago. These have just been in the roots organic and getting tap water. They will transplant into the same soil so I can compare their growth with my non auto plants using the Fox Farms Ocean Forest. I am predicting the autos will make the entire grow needing no additional nutes and just water:

People have advised me against it but unless I get a third tent going which I think is way overkill for me a my personal medicinal use, it just makes more sense to veg in one spot and flower in the other. I can keep moms and clones in the veg and autos in either.............
I have a veg area. I grow from seed, top and train them for a month or two(strain dependent) take a couple of clones and then flower what would be the "mother" plant. The best of the two clones is kept and the other is feed to the worms or made into FPJ (fermented plant juice). This allows me to grow several strains at once without having monster mother plants or a silly amount of clones. Where I reside plant numbers count if the worst should happen. Hence my attraction to scrogging a well vegged specimen. The timing can be a bugger to dial in sometimes because plants are ready on their own terms not what the breeder quotes.
In general things work out that I am harvesting and replacing plants in a perpetual cycle.
When I purchase new strains to try out I get a lot of auto strains as freebees. I consider them my "fire and forget" little gems. If I have a space in the flowering gardens I can fill it with one. To be honest they usually see their life cycle out with a good LST in the veg area.

My veg area is only 120cm by 70cm and 70cm tall. It is illuminated by 10x CXA2530s 7 in 4500k and 3 in 2700K passively cooled. It can get a wee bit crowded at times but in general a productive little area.
I do have several 21w t5 10% uv lamps but I am of two minds about using them because of the added watts. I may just run them a few hours during the flowering light cycle. I would love a cost effective LED UV option though.

I hope this post reaches you in high spirits and improving health Friend.

Cheers,
Will

Pic from the garden this morning, things are still growing and looking good:

When in there having a look around it seems they're asking me for more space sideways. Hopefully I can get my larger tent setup today. If not I might just throw my auto outside and that should do for a bit with the second auto still so small won't take up as much space.

Looks to me like there is plenty of elbow room in there. If you are setting up your second tent soon you should be golden. That sativa is going to be a monster bush.

Cheers,
Will

I just hope its a girl the stem is thickening up nice and the manifolding looking good. I think she would grow able to support the amount of mains she was topped for .

Pic from tonight of the garden and a shot of the bottom end of the Sativa:

IMG_20160507_225025.jpg IMG_20160507_225033.jpg

I had to move the light up higher again to clear the minimum recommended 18" from the top of the canopy of the Sativa. Not much space left in here to go up with the light lol.

The plants are drinking their water and loving life, the Sativa is a thirsty plant for sure drinks a lot more than the Northern Lights right now. I have added some water everyday just to be able to see in the sight tube lol.

Got the second tent setup almost 100% ready to move stuff into it. I just need to figure out my iPower Carbon filter/Exhaust fan setup. The clamp that holds the filter to the fan won't snug up anymore and it's not grabbing.......? That's the only hold up. This Sativa needs to go to the new tent sooner rather than later and get flipped lol...... I will get some pics of the new setup when there's something to show besides an empty tent with the Tasty LED T4-1750.

15" shouldn't be a problem, even closer is possible. You can tell by doing a hand test. Hold your hand below an emitter and move it up until the reflection is so bright it turns yellow/white rather than showing the color of the hand. That's too close.

Thanks for the tip, I moved the light higher though as there was some slight bleaching going on plant was within six inches from the light on the taller cola when I checked in lol. This combo of COB's/SIP's is working very well for me.

Mother's Day pic from the Garden (Day #18 for Incredible Bulk Auto)

IMG_20160508_111844.jpg

Will be working on the new tent some more today hopefully by the end of the day the Sativa is moved over there. It's Mother's Day and my oldest B-day (8 yrs old) so I may or may not get to it. We shall see. Really happy with the direction this grow has taken since moving to COB's and SIP's and also excited about the UV bulbs en route.

Night time mother's day pic from the Garden. I will be working on getting the final touches on the larger tent tomorrow. Just not happening tonight. Need to go grab a couple of things but it's almost there. Only issue I am having right now with it is the front zipper is a bear to open and close. None of the others are just the front. This is what held me up today so.....

IMG_20160508_215555.jpg

The Sativa took a 1/2 gallon of water today and the NL a 1/4 gallon of water.

I switched the Tasty LED to full blast earlier today and so far so good. Temps are good and the plants responded well. The flower tent will be full blast so figured I'd start getting these girls use to it now and get some extra growth out of them.

The auto seedlings are looking good, especially the incredible bulk. Letting it root some more before transplanting to a 5 gallon SIP like the other two plants.

Thanks for checking in

Ok guys made some progress today indoors after tending to the outside gardens. I was able to move the SIP's to their new home and left the seedlings in the smaller setup. I also took a couple of pictures of the plants in the SIP's while they were not in a tent under the LED's and man these plants have never looked this good so far in this grow I can't believe these are plants I am growing on my first run lol.

The Sativa is drinking about 1/2 to 3/4 gallon of water a day lol. The Northern Lights is at about 1/4 gallon a day right now but was drinking faster before.

Any thoughts from the peanut gallery on when to switch to 12/12? I tossed guidelines out the window a while back and have just been going by what the plants have been asking for. My concern with the Sativa is it was a free seed so I do not even know what strain it is at this point.

Here's the Sativa:

Here's the Northern Lights:

Here they are in their new home, need to see when to flip them lol......

And the now empty and lonesome 20' x 36' tent with the two auto seedlings in it:

Still undecided on what beans to run next........ but need to drop something soon can't stand looking at the smaller tent so empty lol.......

Thanks for checking in

Looking amazing!!!
Thanks it's very rewarding to be achieving better than desired results at this point. My goal here is for the best quality medicine I can grow. Yields will come with time and practice. And I just can't imagine whatever yields I start off with from this growing not covering my personal medicinal uses. Will just leave me (hopefully) with enough material for capsules and edibles aside from flowers to burn. Fingers crossed.

This is a personal journey for me for my health and quality of life, I'm not trying to get rich here, you need to be alive first for that :bigjoint:

Late afternoon pics from the outside garden for a change of pace. It's awesome watering the plants and having Blue Jays in the bird bath just feet away. Good therapy for the mind and soul :eyesmoke:

Got some peppers and tomatoes coming in and the herbs are doing well and delicious:

Night time wind down. It's been a busy garden day for me, very tired. But I pushed on tonight and got some new beans in the water after a lot of back and forth.

I decided to pop some of my freebies to get more experience before popping a few strains that I REALLY want to mess with. So I have done some research and I know Barney's is not loved a lot around here, but these beans are sitting here so here goes. I dropped (1) fem bean of the following Barney's Farms Strains in water tonight:
- Liberty Haze
- Pineapple Chunk
- Critical Kush
- Blue Cheese

They're all Indica dom medium/short plants and three are stated to have some CBD as well which does interest me if they turn out ok. So I figure nothing to lose and everything to gain.

As a safety measure I dropped an AK 47 Auto Fem bean in water tonight as well. I will update the bean status as they progress. Fingers crossed for good germination :weed:

Morning check in from the inside garden. I super cropped for the first time a couple of the taller branches on the Sativa to even out the canopy. We will see how the plant recovers. I also did a little defoliation on the NL plant on the underneath to help with air flow again. I will most likely flip to 12/12 once the plants recover from today.

The new beans are still in their cups of water awaiting to sink and then go the paper towel method with some Mykos. Then once tap roots pop they can all go into solo cups and the new and second grow can begin.

I will most likely be working on SIP #3 throughout today and tomorrow and toss the larger incredible bulk auto seedling into it and into the larger tent. I know they say light schedules don't matter for the auto's but if I have a separate tent flowering might as well throw the auto in there when it's flowering right?

The Sativa took another half gallon of water this morning and the NL plant another 1/4 gallon, so the SIP is still sipping :)

Cheers :peace:

Everything looks great in your grow spaces. Flipping them to 12/12 sooner than later is a safe bet when you are trying out new equipment in a new set up. Running out of room sucks, having plenty of room to work and let them breath makes the whole thing more relaxing. I think you mentioned that you have humidity issues, so you definitely need room for air flow. Looks like you've got it, and you are on your way. :)
