With all due respect ozzrock, I am equally sick of people coming on a medical forum and wanting to discuss stretching the law, over growing and pressing radical anti government view points. You certainly have a right to them, but could you please express them in an appropriate form?
Perhaps more people interested in progress of medical laws would participate in this forum, if they were not run off by guys like you.
And I'd never ask for anyone to be banned...i'd rather them stick around and present lively, on point topics and discussions...within the context of the forum.

I am also not one to push for legalization in a medical forum. But everything I hear from you sounds like you are on one side.

you came on here.. ,laughed at cg and pats alike. -i don't laugh when it comes to raids or fellow growers who get busted. if they are doing some illegal, then that is unfortunate for them. but a good portion of those in this state who have been in such a predicament have been legal.
you had "excuses" in these postings, that fell square in the law and clearly so.
be a part of the community, not trying to hate on those who are by your side and would help you if you also were following the law and found trouble along your travels.

I'm not hoping or wishing any ill on anyone, that shits just bad karma.
But I do have a few thoughts on the issue.
We are judged as a community, and they use every illegal carded bust as their example of all of us.
If for every cardholder busted breaking the law meant one legit cardholder would be denied a renewal how would you reply to this thread?
(you'll think about that question when you do yours)
Maybe if we policed our own a little more, they would police us a little less.

The problem is, if they are doing something illegal, it's unfortuante for US..not them. They got caught doing something illeagal...and the guys try to comply get punished with tighter laws.
When some one says "it was curing"..you don't think they knew that was countable weight?.
When some one says a plant is a mother and doesn't count, you don't think they knew it did?
When some one has (on a 5 patient cg card) 30 in flower, 30 in veg and 30 in the cloner...you don't think they knew they were over count?
The point is that most of the busts I hear about are the result of illegal grows posing as legit.
A caregiver should never be over plant count...no matter how you count them. Nor should a self grower.
Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law. If your going to grow for med in Michigan, Read the law, ask if you have questions..but don't plead ignorance when they catch you.
Let me know if you hear of anyone facing court that was in compliance with the law. I'll help fund their defense.
And I disagree that there are very many people who were in compliance facing charges. (I'm sure there are some, but with any kind of representation, they will be dismissed)
Virtually every report I've seen claiming "busted and in compliance" is a first hand report, by the person who got busted, telling only his side of the story.
Inevitably, if you follow those cases, when they get to court, there was a clear violation.
I'd never say that there are not a few overzealous cops, or DA's...but those cases don't stick.
And remember, if there was a raid, there was a warrant. If there was a warrant, there was a complaint. If there was a complaint, the person getting raided did something (maybe just carelessness, not necessarily illegal) to cause someone to complain.
The cops are simply not out to bust med growers that are complying.. but they are actively seeking the people abusing the law.

I've said it over and over. The cops and lawmakers are using the cg/dispensary and "patient" grow busts..that are truly way out of guidelines..to push to furhter limit or repeal this law. Thereby causing people who try and comply to be punished as well.
Every patient that was self growing has been punished already by the p2p ruling. The patient growing for themselves, before the p2p ruling, could take thier small overages to a dispensary, and legally donate the overage, and recive payment for thier time and costs growing the crop.
Those same patient growers, after p2p, are now forced to be illegal if they wish to do anything with their overage other than destroy it.
That's a pretty big kick in the face to the true patient, growing for himself. Hew was able to net free meds, maybe make a modest profit, and not break the law.
He can still grow his own, but he can't get anything back to offset the expense of the grow. More importantly, he can't supplement his income with his small overages either.
Did you ever stop to think that the patient growing for himself, is most likely the one who truly has a chronic and debilitating condition, can't work, or is limited in the work they could do, and that one little thing..netting free meds and maybe just a little profit, may have kept food on their table?

HERE BOB! I know you're fav complaint is that we're all talking non-medical shit on a medical area but I think we're all in here cuz we're all from Michigan. I take this as a local spot to speak to Michigan patients. Subject aside (and you bob) I am here to connect with people from my state. All registered people are medical patients and belong here talking about whatever affects them as pot using patients. If I'm wrong a mod will let me know but please stop complaining about this medical forum being used for non medical shit bob.

What were we? Generation U? Every generation does the best they can with what they inherit. We were born right after ww2, in which millions died so that we, and YOU could be free. We fought in Vietnam..not because we believed in, but because or country asked us to. We got rid the draft, so you were not forced to serve. The current generation has never seen war..you've seen troop mobilization, youv'e seen the US kick ass with very low loss of American lives..but you haven't seen your high school buddies shipped off and decimated before their return.
What generation do you think lobbied, got med mj on the ballot and voted it in 16 years ago in Cali? Uhhh, that would be us.
What generation do you think invented all the wonderful technology that you use every day and take for granted?

It's never been easy to be the young generation...the generation before you has all the good jobs, they have more money, nicer homes. They earned it.

Bob I like the idea behind most of what you are saying. I am some what like you in that I dont push the limits of what my cards allow me in michigan. Personally I am way below my "allowed" plant count. But I too feel the discomfort of stretching the laws as they are currently interpreted buy selling my "overage" to other care givers for other patients I do agree there are a lot of retarded pot heads with one card from a doctor they bribed to get a weed card have 307 plants they would claim they are still clones on the 8th week of flower.
However when taken as a whole you do come off a little to much on martyr side the woe is me look at the pain the bad man has caused me. It strikes me as a little Emoish. I think what we should be asking ourselves is how do we correct the situation.
On a quick side note Murfy. Dont ever speak for Gen X again there is a large group of us who have been very sucessful in life and we are pissed you were not Cloroxed out of the gene pool by parents during the first trimester. Move out of the basement at your parents house before you try to lead a revoultion If you are the face of the Medical Marijuana in Michigan we are screwed we will be back into prohibition in no time
