Javadog's Next Adventure

So I just recently completed an expansion project, moving my flowering space from a 2.5 x 4.5 closet to a 8 x 4 tent and a 1000 w. Heat was an issue until I changer my vent runs from 1 line to 2. Basically I have one line pushing heat out of the tent connected to the light and a second line pulling from the carbon filter. This got my temps down to about 81, which is still too high for comfort in DWC. The solution? I ran a 4 inch duct line from my ac vent into the tent and now my temps stay at 75.

With the temps dialed in, I can move to a totally perpetual set up, with multiple strains and harvests every 2-3 weeks. Very exciting times.

Was recently in Amsterdam, and brought back Super Silver Haze seeds and I recently acquired Guava IX seeds from TopDawg seeds which are currently being germed. I will have to sex those but other than that, very excited to have Guava x Stardawg in my stable.

I will keep you periodically updated JD

I won't have enough temperature drop during my dark cycles to bring out all the sexy colors, but that's a minor issue if I get the taste and effect where it needs to be..

Currently running Madness by world of seeds, Purple Trainwreck (forget who the breeder is) and Silver Kush by Reserva Privada (DNA)

Thank for taking the time BLJ:

"I can move to a totally perpetual set up, with multiple strains and harvests every 2-3 weeks"

Exciting times indeed! LOL, I am stoked. Please do keep us updated.

I thing that RP did the Purple Trainwreck.

I can add that I did my first water refresh. I took my compst tea pump, dropped
it into the bottom of my reservoir/"heart" and used it to pump out the system.

I added plain water and then MaxiBloom at about 1/4 strength.

We will see. I have some crazy roots in some but not all....much learning happening.

I wanted to throw out a Thank you to Sm0kAlot this morning as well.

I sat with my bro yesterday and we cleaned up and bagged all the many
little plants that I did in my last cycle.

I got to toke some Sour Power. Very strong. ...still figuring out the flavor. :0)

More of the crosses you can me should be appearing at some point along
the way.

Take care all,

JD

Yeah, mine is too (had to look it up)....never seen it? LOL that because it is a
finicky biyatch that needs something...less...that I have been giving it. My bro
has it now, but it did survive the move I believe.

I love HSO. Make it work! ;0)

Hey Team,

I found my PPM meter (lol) and see that I am at ~ 640 ppm.

My water is around 300. (So Cal H2O is famously yucky ;^)

What does this say? Can I stuff their little mouths?

The are in their early phase...I am thinking cal-mag, ancient earth,
some pro-blend, and either ignitor or bigbud.

I found this:

Seedlings, Early Sprouts 100 to 250

Early Vegging 300 to 400

Full Vegetation 450 to 700

Early Blooming 750 to 950

Full Mature Blooms 1000 to 1600

Whaddayathink?

I think those ranges are a little high personally JD. I tend to never go above 500 ppm in veg and max out at 750-800 in late flower.

I really recommend going with RO water if u can. That way your ppm reading is true picture of what they are taking in, how they handle etc. Because your water has mineral content it does affect how much nutrient you can give your plants. If you see the ppm spike while the water level goes down, it means the plants are taking in more water than nutes and corrective action is necessary.

Yea. HSO PT is a bit finicky and really the final product is just ok. Will probably let this strain go after I finish run.

i've fed 1000ppms going into flower.
ive even gave little post seedling plants around 600ppms no issues.
it can be strain dependent or environment.
i have always been practicing the more intensity in terms of watts per sq ft =the more food you can feed as long as somethings are in check like co2,ph,temp etc... that will = a healthier plant.

however; going with ro will give you better control and knowledge of how there eating.
saving you nutes..
saving you money!

I should clarify my comments: I too have fed at high levels without any issues except some minor burning at the tips of leaves but what I have learned is that due to dwc is in a constant state of feeding, it doesn't need that much. Yes, of course I am speaking in general terms, strain and other environmental factors contribute to it all, but I ran a few strains where I maxed out at 1100 ppm or thereabouts and ran it later, same exact pheno, at the levels I mentioned above with no drop off (in one case improvement upon) in growth, yield taste etc. Under virtually the same conditions.

So for me, GD touches on it, it's more of a nute efficiency, get more bang for my bucks issue than it is a plant health issue.
