Javadog's Next Adventure

You rock it Doc. I will share some box ideas....if we actually
work on this thing then we ought to capture the process to
some extent.

F: you rock! It is really good to see you pop in.

SG: First things first buddy: boat your own bass. Get settled and we can
talk about possibilities.

BG: Others have made that suggestion....I will ponder it. I have this
unit now....and it does make a ton of air which is really cool, but I just
might have to use your idea.

TC: Yup. The outage did not last too long. ...the wife might still ruin it,
as the power bill still dropped a bill. LOL. Now, I pay that much off the
top of our bill, so her complaining will not save her any money. (we split
bills....it is just how we started...)

Mo: those are excellent ideas. I agree about the fan....this is part of
my design....and I have seen where the soft-boxes tether the fan into the
center as well.

Onward and upward,

JD

I try to keep as many hot items out of the tent and away from the res. My res overheated and gave me root rot on my first hydro grow.

Hydro in the winter :)

I am going to be making some of Mad's favorite: lactobacillus

I will be trying everything though and may end up issues to learn through....

I will work on the noise issue today.

For all of my talk about baffled ducts, I do not have the time to design
anything specific.

We will see. Take care all.

This is what you get when you leave Javadog alone...
IMG_4957.JPG

I got pretty inventive....I used 2" thick wood for better containment.
It is quite large, so I have hopes of not burning the pump up.

I used a section of Boogie Board to seal the hole left, and I laid the
pump onto a sling/hammock made out of a t-shirt. The pump is
in the air.

----> with the doors of the tent open, the bubble stones are now
the loudest thing I hear

----> Success.

JD

P.S. Yes, I split the wood in couple of places. I am not Doc! ;0)

Here it is in action:
IMG_4958.JPG

That foam is very dense and is more than 2" into the box...it was
from a thick board...one that was cut before it should have been.
...it is fairly fresh foam.

I just stuffed an old t-shirt into the gap...not perfect noise wise but
I wanted some breathing.

Thanks Bro. I am going to pop one of your creations, to
start some new genetics.

I am going to *try* to creep up the nutes.

Today I have to chase down a small leak. When that is settled
then I will be ready. I am visiting my bro and will be getting
some of my ladies back today.

I may have put the rubber gasket on the wrong side in one
of my connections. it is a tiny leak and only happens when
the water is being pumped.

Have a great day all.

P.S. Lift one in honor of the Freedom we used to know.

No fan Mo. It does have a large volume of air to heat.

I can add that I just pulled the rag that is fairly tightly wedged
into the hole and tested the air inside. It did not seem hot at
all, but I could only stick my finger in. I need to find my
thermometer-with-a-probe. When I do I will check this again.

With probe inserted....dirty thoughts aside...it got to 80F on a
warm afternoon (ambient was only about 4F lower):

This morning, ambient was actually about the same:

So, it does seem that size matters....the volume of air to be heated is sufficient...

Take care all....now to try to tighten the one leaking connection.

My bro set me up with some of my genetics back.

The first ladies are in:

Props to my bro for saving soooo many great breeds,
for the both of us to continue to enjoy.

I didn't even label them as I put them in. (sigh, working
in the dark gets old...) but I know all of these breeds
and will know what is what as they mature. But a Somango
is in, and a HGK, and a Blue Pit, a Ghost Train Haze,
and one I tore the label off and will have to confirm the last
in the tent. The KK (Kosher Kush) is still in a beer cup...looking
very weak.

Take care all,

JD

Thanks Doc. I am on Watch now....waiting to see if/when
they perk up after being moved and in the dark for a while
during the move.

I have high hopes.

All of the new beans but one are out of their peat pucks too.

Take care,

JD

Thanks TC. I am a newbie again.

I need to find my PPM meter. :0) I am creeping up the nutes to
begin with, with mostly cal-mag, silica-blast, "ancient earth" (basically
"Liquid Karma"), and a tiny bit of Botanicaire's Pro-Blend Bloom.

I started with B's PB line and everything else I have tried has
brought greater risk of burn or such.....buffered and very mild.

We will see.

BTW: How many times do I squirt the roots?

Thanks again for popping in.

i.e. I am using a relay time to control the water squirt.

The air bubbles are always on.

I was thinking [ on for 20 seconds / off for 15 minutes ]
would be a good interval.

This is for plants that we clones that shown roots, two
had roots that hung down past the bucket, if not all the
way to the water yet.

All chatter appreciated. :0)
