I am fighting the slime right now....

Heres a fact for you, regarding the very-slightly-contentious issue
of whether or not to put an air stone in the heart/reservior.

---> if for any reason your R drops, then you may find that you end
up with anaerobic growth on the heart and lines.

I cannot afford to chill the water, and I live a mile from the water, so
I am betting that a few caps of bleach will clear things up while I make
some other cures.

I want to try the acid-loving bacteria solution as well.

P.S. By "a mile from the water" I mean "from the beach" == it just doesn't get over 85
other than about 2-3 weeks a year....around this time frame. On bad years we might
go eight weeks of steam but usually there are breaks.

Now, El Cajon is brutal. :0)

JD.... :IMO airstones attract that in warm watter. I think using small water pumps to keep the water moving works just as good. you can even just have it shoot straight up if its a small pump and it will make a nice fountain on the top of the water. Still adds a bit of heat though. Ice in the rez can help.

Pool shock in the warm months too. Thats what a lot of people use to clone but it will keep the slime away too for dwc.

Beneficial keep the slime away. There are a number of products that will help you JD.

LOL, I LOVE all the ideas folks. I will try them all in time.

I have cultured the acidophilus (<--only one letter off! ;0)
bacteria and that will be tried in time.

I am basically going to pool shock route this time.

Mo, I am in San DIego. Carmel Valley. About a mile from
Torrey Pines State Beach. If it gets over 90 here, then the
rest of SD is sweltering.

Study contradicts some prior marijuana research

WASHINGTON — Chronic marijuana use by teenage boys does not appear to be linked to later physical or mental health issues such as depression, psychotic symptoms or asthma, according to a study published by the American Psychological Association.


Researchers from the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Rutgers University tracked 408 males from adolescence into their mid-30s for the study, which was published in Psychology of Addictive Behaviors®.


“What we found was a little surprising,” said lead researcher Jordan Bechtold, PhD, a psychology research fellow at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. “There were no differences in any of the mental or physical health outcomes that we measured regardless of the amount or frequency of marijuana used during adolescence.”

There are a ton of tech firms around me. I worked down by the train tracks in
Sorrento Valley....there are a few "skunk-works" down there. Our office had
an area with a higher ceiling. It was where the very first video motion analysis
for profit firm worked with golfers. (Torrey Pines golf course is right up the hill)

yea, that sucks about slime man. Its funny, I know a lot of people love hydro and swear its so much simpler then soil....just from using the aerocloner...I think its safe to say I'm sticking to my soil. coco was a fun experiment though.
