Isolating Pure CBD.

I'm treating a seizure patient (dravets syndrome) and a patient with an auto immune disease (ulcerative colitis) and both have taken a decarbed, and non-decarbed oil and the symptoms of both diseases are subsided equally as well from the non-decarbed oil. The dravets patient has gone from multiple seizures every day down to 1 or 2 a month and is nearly off of all pharmaceuticals, and the UC patient has been able to drop his Prednisone (steroid) dose from 20mg a day down to 4mg a day and dropping. Seems to be very effective in this form

Yes. Prior to activating THC and CBD have an extra amino acid and are in the form of THC-A and CBD-A which cannot pass the blood brain barrier. I have used a full spectrum non-decarbed oil on a seizure patient with great results. Dry ice extraction of cannabinoids infused in to room temp oil (gel caps work very well for this) then refrigerated.
Why use dry ice to do this? Is it to keep the material colder? Cause if you want a much more pure extracted cannabinoid then you should be doing a dry sift extraction rather than dry ice.
Dry ice freezes the material to -106 F which turns the material into microscopic plant dust which gets mixed in with the extract giving a much more diluted, inferior, un-pure extract.
Dry sift done with the proper mesh sizes will give you a far superior extract to work with.

Or is it because you are using fresh un dried starting material to keep from having any decarboxilation starting from the drying of the material?
I have read that even a slow cold drying of flowers will still have a bit of decarb going on but I'm not sure if any real research has been done on this?

The show you're thinking of is Weed Country, and the guys name is Nathaniel Morris. I have been in touch with him about this (and am actually growing the high cbd plant he bred) and he is now advocating using a full spectrum (all cannabinoids) non-decarbed oil

The "whole plant" theory suggests that plant material is not only ok to have infused in to the oil, it's actually beneficial. Using dry ice it turns the plant matter I'm to a powder that is fine enough to pass through a 160 micron mesh and be easily infused in to an oil. I suppose your way would be fine too, but this is the way that I have been doing it and my patients results have been spectacular

What's the ratio looking like?

I want to be clear with something. I am not suggesting that an oil that has not been decarbed is superior to an activated oil. I have two patients that for different reasons can't/don't want to get "high" so this is the path that we have travelled. I can attest to the effectiveness of treating their very different symptoms with a non-decarbed oil though.

Chewberto likes when people jack all over his thread.

All kidding aside the shit I've watched and read about cbd and all medical benefits of cannabis changed my whole outlook on growing.

Me personally still only likes to get wicked blazed!

Knowledge is power and power helps people?

Hey Chewberto this stuff touches my heart more than anything in the world. Cancer treatment, seizure treatment, any medicinal value this amazing plant has to offer should be free to the world and used by anyone that wants it, needs it, or provides it.
I have offered my services on the Canadian medicinal section of this forum before several times and I will post it here too. I am in Canada so my offer can't go out to anyone in the USA unfortunately but if any one in Canada wants to spend time and energy researching these things more or providing medicine to these kinds of patients I will do so and provide 100% funding and product to do so. I can be reached by PM about any serious inquiries, info, or ideas.

This is a similar story of the Cali situation I mentioned earlier. The family moved from Canada to Colorado to continue treatment with high CBD marijuana.

The strain they are working with has a 17% CBD to 0.5 THC ratio
