Communism hasn't been a threat since the 1980's, we've had nearly 40 years to update the policy. The religious right wing of politics in America has stood in the way ever since. The religious right very much wants the government telling us how or what to teach our children.. They don't want anything that's not Christian, they just don't openly admit it because then they can't pull the persecution card whenever they perceive an attack..

that pic says a lot...though im not sure i understand the language? sexy gal on a crusade? sexy bible thumper who just happens to like AR15's? sexy gal planning to use that thick 'babble' as body armour?

That's a play on another picture the girl saw that was circulating throughout the media at that time;

She took that pic with the American flag and conservatives went nuts online with support not realizing the incredible irony of the photo..

Two sides of the same coin perpetuated by fear and ignorance

Yes it is the collective human ego, it is quite literally insane. The ego of the individual feels like it belongs to something, which is why it attaches itself to religion and patriotism, it is just one more thing to give it a sense of self, whether you are Christian American or Muslim Arabic those are just to more things to identify with, as far as you perceive it it becomes a part of who you are and now the absolute insane ego is ready to kill or die for this false perspective of self, this fleeting idea of self which the mind tries to perpetuate as best as it can. Religion is not the problem, it is in your hearts humanity, and if it is in your heart it will conquer the mind and thus control your will, until you lay your mortals souls to rest there will always be suffering and conflict.

Not religious myself, however I did run down to Haiti with a group of Christians to help hand out food and provide general help. Looking around there, I was amazed that I did not see any atheist groups duplicating what I saw dozens of Christian ones doing. Ok, maybe I wasn't.

That said, I think the leftist indoctrination that happens in our schools and intensifies in our colleges is more destructive than any religious one.

Another question maybe is....you are walking down a dark street in a "bad neighborhood" and 4 men pop out from between 2 buildings and begin following you. Would you find it comforting to know they just came from a bible study?
Religion used to be the cause of entire wars, but now it is just terrorists that otherwise would still be terrorists using religion to justify their acts.

a great comparison, but truly i fear if it wasnt religion we were killing each other over...it would be something else..we would find a reason to murder other even over a game of marbles if we could find nothing else...forgive yourselves brothers & sisters as our brains are hardwired from birth to behave absurdly...as we dance this macabre waltz of life...i have no answer to our worldly problems..cept to possibly keep reminding ourselves how foolish we are

thats good logic...and yes the world would be a better place without silly humans roaming around it looking for trouble...glorified monkies...thats all we are
