Sorry i mean Fem Seeds!!! Yea i go with Fem and Srog Technick maybe. I change my Equipment i go with 80x80cm and 2 CXB first and later i buy another 2 for each Spot! Friend told me 80x80 are better because the Area are better for later Upgrades... I know you told me know the Lights are not enough :D but for 2 Plants it is the same with 60x60 Tudogrow Support say me the same think.. thank you for your Support also i go with Fem Seeds maybe DNA Genetics.
Of course it is better with a 80x80 because one will light 40x40cm so four will be perfect...not with a 60x60cm...and it is the month of discount!...
DNA is a good choice...hso too! (dna make some with Crockett family farm and it look very potent!)
Do you think a vendor will say anything against his products? Todo guy is going to say anything you want to heard to sell his cxb to you...todo have nice light a very nice prices but they should land on earth...!

If you use cxb3590 3500ºk 36V CD @700mA (23/25w I guess it depends on the current 220 or 110V) you can put 8 like that on the hs you aim for...it is good for 4 @1400mA or 8 @700mA or 16 @350mA...etc
If you buy cxb from Jerry take the driver from him(52.50$) because you buy cob from him shipping cost will be better if you buy driver and holders at the same time (if you need lens or cheap reflector you should buy it with)
But for a 2x4...8sq/ft...8x30w=240w...
Personally with this size I would take 8 cxb3590 @1050mA or 10 @700mA no more and @700mA it will be very very efficient!

Thank you for the response.
I thought about the 1050mA but I guess that I misunderstood how much I could get away with on the heatsink.
So I can put 5 CBX3590s 3500K 36V CD @ 700mA on each 44" x 5.88" heatsink? I am in the US so running on 110v.
Then to get great coverage, plenty of PAR/W etc of roughly 30w/ft2 I need 10 COBs at 700mA?
That would up my initial cost by about $100.

As for the Drivers, another impression that I got was that the shipping was too costly to buy drivers from Kingbrite for drivers because they are heavy, so this is in fact not the case? Shipping not that bad?
I am thinking now that I may go with holders and reflectors also.
The F13838 Angelina 90 degree reflector looks like the one to go with and the reflector seems to me like it would give more penetration especially at 700mA.
So now maybe a $900 grow light, so I checked out a less expensive grow tent to make up for it.
Was getting a Gorilla grow 2x4' $305 now think I am going to go with an Apollo 2x4' $89 gets great reviews so WTH will save $215 and I can put that on the light.

44x5.88x?...is 1100x147x?...I use a 1000x165x35mm...40x6.6x1.4...14 fins to cool passively 4 cxb3590 36V @1400mA (I cut it in 4 pieces an add a fan on each pieces but it is ok without fan...I just prefer to keep it cool for longevity)...so 8 cxb @700mA...as yours is a bit smaller 7 would be ok!

As for kb...if you buy cob holder driver and 90º kb reflector shipping costs will be ok...if you only buy 1 driver it will be same price as US shops! (Don't forget to mention you came from riu)

Thank you for the info.
So sounds like 5 per heatsink would be about perfect really, that's about 29W/ft2 should run nice and cool.
I just figured out the cost to run the light and should only be about $11 a month at 16 hours a day and about $8 a month at 12/12.
So this LED might cost an arm and a leg to start but will pay for itself quickly.

Hi does anyone know if either of these would be good choices for a 5'x2' flower tent with 20" box fan exhaust and 10" box fan intake? ThanksScreenshot_2016-01-09-02-06-28.png Screenshot_2016-01-09-02-06-44.png

Question here (1st post by the way)

Due to budget restrictions I am trying to put a COB light together based on the Vero 18.

I have a 2.5x2.5x5 tent and my girls are currently in flower (just hit 1 week)... I will only ever be running 2 maybe 3 ladies at a time so I dont need overkill.

My questions are this - for half a tent will 3 or 4 Vero 18's run at around 700-1050mA and 20w-30w (each cob) be enough light?

If not.. what are my other choices? Where I live I am looking at around A$15 per COB (Vero18) vs $40 per COB (Vero29) vs $55 for a CXB3070.

Just for the record.. keep in your mind CHEAP! I am comfortable with the electronics side of things (putting it together etc) - just keen to hear peoples opinions.

Rough estimates at the moment but I should be able to do a Vero 18 Set up for ~A$100 - thats my sweet spot.

CXB 3070 from KingBrite is about $39 and the even better CXB3590 for $49 Vero 29 $28
