Hello All,

I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction including where to buy.

I'm looking at making a small veg light for my 2x3. My idea is to keep the cost down, so 2x Vero 29 5000k and a driver.

Can anyone recommend model numbers?

Thank you.

I am working on building a stealth grow cabinet. The full space inside is 36"x18"x60. I was going to use a CFL set up but started looking into LEDs. I have a low budget to work with and was thinking about something like this. Thoughts and opinions?

http://www.amazon.com/Erligpowht-Indoor-Garden-Plant-Hanging/dp/B00S2DPYQM/ref=sr_1_1?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1451701273&sr=1-1&keywords=LED+grow+light&refinements=p_72:2661618011
don't buy. instead get a bathroom vanity light and some led flood lights or led bulbs.

Looks like 100w to 150w of quality led fixture wil be ideal. Optic, Tasty and area51 x 2 will all work. 4000k is extremely good in vero and Cree for all our needs. Don't equate k ratings of LEDs directly to HID,s as vero and Cree spectrums are much fuller and more closely meet the needs of plants.
Used led bulbs and cfl's and they both work, but must be kept close, even in veg and can clutter things up. Good led bulbs are not free either.

I wouldn't go with 4000ºk...3500ºk have more red and enough blue...4000ºk do not have enough red imo!
Tastyled would be my choice if I wasn't diy...the owner is a nice guy and a member too and his black fixture look sooo cool! And he use cxb3590 and Meanwell driver so good parts maybe he could tell you more on his light...

And just to remind everyone...softer you run a cob higher is the efficiency
So 2 cxb @50w each will cober and produce more than 1 @100w...and 4 @25w will be even better...in fact with 3 @25w you will pull about the same weight than 1 @100w...
Cxb kick ass @ 1400mA but they are good @1750mA...I won't go harder!
But @700mA it is the best light available (36v model)

Is this considered "top bin"? CXB3590-0000-
000N0BDB40E

Also more elementary, what's the difference between bins?

I was thinking about getting the 4000k version listed above. According to the spec sheet, it appears to give 8% more lumens than the best performing 3500k bin. (13237 vs 14340)

Edit: nm I think I misread the chart. It's minimum luminous flux, not output. If someone could clue me into what that is, I would appreciate it. Also what's a "Step"?

,cool cool I wondering why everyone users 3000 5000k white o er red630 n. Blues 440 etc

And isn't meanwel a china Driver that could fail 3xprice I can get same driver UK made

And finally do you just add more led per driver to reduce what they run at?
I see ppl saying run1500 at 1000 or 700 ish and I don't know how there doing this I don't see controlerz?

I'll do it like you say 200ish watt panels so I can have a few in in case problems and flex in movinv them about

Ok, here I'm. After reading thousend of posts and wieving a lot of videos, as I'm a mechanical engineer, and a DIY addicted, I can't resist to build my COB's fixture! I have some questions. I live in Italy and I grow indoor chili peppers.

1) In your opinion Vero29 3500K-36V-2100mA could go for the entire cycle (may be much better of the actual CFL)? Have you, or someone you know, try with peppers?

2) My setup will be 6xCOBS Vero 29 drived by MW HLG-240H-C1050B plus 15xOsram 1.85V-350mA-730nm drived by MW APC-12-350. Is that right? The heatsink configuration will be: 1xCOB 3x730nm 1xCOB 3x730nm ... and it will be 5.883"x55" from Heatsink USA, could it be fine?

3) I could't find lens here in Italy. Are they necessary?
Thank you in advance

Paolo

Cree CXB3590 CB 30G @ 1.4 100watts to each COB 3000K Blue Dreams Day 35 of 70 Flower With Timber Grow Lights CXB200
4000K is High Reds/High Blues
3500K is High Reds/Lower Blue compared to 3500K

Blue Light gives a little better efficiency than its warmer counterparts

Hi Fiete here :)

TGL-STAR CXB-60W

You find the cheapest cxb panel seller in EU atm!
those light could cover 45x45 easy but with 60x60 it wont really fit...
Did you think about diy?
4 cxb 3590 3500ºk 36V CD @1050mA on an hlg-120-1050 (150w) would be perfect...1 cob over each sq/ft for a very nice spread and 60% efficient (40% heat and 60% light...hps are 36%!)

Hey, those cob assemblies look pretty sick, Fiete. Nice find. I wonder how those prices convert over to dollars...

You should aim local cxb panel...they do not speak english and it is heavy so it will cost 150 $ shipping...!
Their cxb 3070ad panel is 350 €...380 $!...you have cxb3590cd panel here for 500 $ or less with rollitup promo code for very good lights made in US!

Yeah mostly looking into DIY COB right now, although I'd be happy with a better LED assembly than I currently have or an HID vert setup if either one turns out to be more affordable or cost effective. And cross lighting with multiple of the above options seems an ideal goal for now.

The Tudogrow seller say 2 x 60 Watt are perfect for 60x60 cm! They speak very good English! I think 4 x 60 Watt are to much for 60x60... I don't looking for over 300g dry buds what is possible with 4 x 60 Watt... This is to much! If I can harvest 100-150g with 120 watt 2 x led I am very very happy....

I have asked this question on another thread and was never answered, I am new to LED grow lights in general. What is the deal with using a light like the Banshee 216 w from wickedlightstore? I am wondering if this type of style LED light using the standard GU10 pluggable bulbs could be any good? It would seem that being able to change the bulbs etc would awesome, but there must be a reason these types of "fixtures" aren't being mentioned...Can someone tell me if this type of the negatives of this light and why it doesn't work?
I hope someone has answered but if they haven't... What I don't like about these lights is the lack of control other than on and off. I love using a pulse mod in my pcb gives me good dimming capibility. If you are looking for a good screw in horticulture LED, check this out....
OSRAM SYLVANIA Zelion PAR38 LED Grow Light with Full Spectrum... wow that was a cut and paste.. hehe

I understand what you mean but it will light (1 spot) 45x45...maybe 50x50...there is a reflector or a lens if I remember well...
I was thinking about the other cause I guess there is a dimmer on the 4 cxb one who would allow you to run them at 50%...better efficiency and spread for not a lot more...and less heat too...and I will allow you to make only 2 runs during the cold days if you decide to use all the power...you make more in less time and then you let all the hot month and use the coldest to produce for a year!

Hm, my english is not so good i dont understood everythink what you say :( you will say the CXB 60 Watt has a Reflector in it? I dont think the 60 Watt Single CXB has a Dimmer in it but i dont really know on the Website from Tudo they dont say that! Do you think the Heat is much from one Single CXB 60 Watt? I can Run only 1 60 Watt for the first Weeks and later put the Second CXB to it? Cold Days right but in my Room is 21 Celsius. Why only 2 Runns? I go with my first Grow with Autoflowers i can run the Light 20 Hours and the New Auto Colorado Cookies are know Availeble from Dutch Passion :) my Plan is to Run 4 x Auto Colorados in 4 x 7,5 Liter Airpots i hope it is not to much? The Cookis are more Indica Dominant so not to much in Hight. And: I dont have the Money for 4 x CXB i can Buy later if i need another one but i think 2 are enough for 60x60 the Support from Tudo say i can run in 60x60 only ! CXB but for better Production he say 2 are Perfekt... So everythink is good ore not?
