Growing in an apartment?

I was wondering if you guys had any knowledge of this.

I am currently living in an apartment. I would like to start growing, but does anyone know if my landlord is allowed to enter my apartment without permission? I know police cant enter without a warrant, but I'm just worried about the landlord coming in and finding something.

Just Make sure that the lease states that the landlord has to give you a couple days notice before being able to enter the apartment, hope this helps.

I grew in an appartment for years with no problems but still not smart. The landland or maintinance usually give 24 hrs but if your or the person upstairs bust a water heater they can walk right in. So be careful and lucky

You should definitely check your lease. It's usually a common clause in most leases and even if it's not technically the landlord might still have the legal power to do so since the landlord either owns the building or works for the owner. So it's definitely something that you need to think about and take extra precautions.

I was a landlord, and I always had to give 24 hrs notice to enter the condo. Now, if something that needed my attention right away, like a busted water pipe or such...I could enter right then and there. Just make sure you keep your grow small enough that you can dismantle it within minutes. You should be fine, just be cautious.:peace:

Well I always thought that the landlord had to give you some time in advance, he cant just expect to go in whenever he wants to. I figure your best bet is to have a stealth grow. Make a grow box out of a rubbermaid box or 2 of them and use cfls, no hot lights. If you want more information on this, check out stealth grows in the grow journals, plenty of people have done them. hope that helps :peace:

go look through the journals and see if you can find stonedknitters cfl grow. those beasts are being grown in a closet. check your lease and state laws about landlord entering the crib, also depends on your landlord, i rent through some people who would forget they even owned this place if they didnt rent checks eack month so i feel pretty safe. i have lived out several leases without the landlord comin over once:joint:

im living in an apratment and i think its safe. As long as you vent the place as much as you can, keep plenty of insents on hand, and dont show nobody your grow bro then you should be fine...

Hi, I now have more than 70 units , mostly apts. Trust me, I have a very good idea who smokes and I dont have time to care. What gets people busted is not the micro grow in their closet. I dont go looking for it, but if you leave out stuff and pest control finds it, you will get a visit from PD.

it would be nice if life worked so simply like that but unfortuantly most states do not protect MMJ patients from their landlords. I would recommend two different things... the first thing is to contact some random landlords who you do not know or rent from... ask them if you can grow MMJ in their apartments. If not then try step 2.... grow and dont show lol... thats really the only two things u can do... however i do know that a state introduced law to protect a MMJ patient from being fired from their job for using MMJ. So im sure there are similiar laws already on the books for landlords.... check out your state law bro

dont get a high wattagge light, like a 1000w, keep it 400 and under
I run 2 1000w HPS and a 250w HPS in a 1 bed condo.....:fire:

Landlord cant legally enter without your permission or 24hours notice or written notice from a sheriff or resolution dispute officer.

But some asshole landlords will enter anyway. It happened to me this morning, not at my grow condo thank fucking God, but I had 2 plants and clones on the kitchen counter... Good thing he didnt notice those.

Just be careful, some landlords are fucking douchebags and the fact is theres not a lot you can do to stop them if they do enter illegally theres not a lot you can do. Its shitty but thats the way it is, just be careful where you rent, and dont grow in Rental buildings, only grow in privately owned condos that are being rented out. Much safer.

Maaaan ur alll good:-P Every grow op iv had was in an apartment! Although it can be quite messy and u may not get ur deposit back when u move out. But yea ur Land lord MUST BY LAW give u 24 hours notice b4 entering ur unit. I had a close call at my last appartment, the smell got sooo bad that she called the police on me but i didnt open the door because they had no warent. It was a fucked up situation because prior to the police ariving she came by first. She said "i was cleaning out the empty unit next to yours and the stench of pot is so strong that im convinced that ur doing one of two thing. 1. your producing hashish and hash oil on a large scale. 2. Your Growing a lot of pot plants." I strongly denied both and told her i had just gottan laid off at work and was depressed and was smoking my self in to a stupor on a daily basis. She said "Ok, thats fine but get rid of the stench and cut back." I told her i would take care of every thing.. Well my friend comes over to check out the crop, he peeks out the top story window and says "Holy shit its the cops!" Then we hear a pounding at the door and it was indeed the police. We both panic BIG time and he runs for the back door and hops the fence and bails. I on the other hand am curled up into a little ball in the upstairs bathroom begging for them to leave and chain smoking cigs like never b4! Well i call my friend who bailed and asked him to watch the cops and to tell me when they left. He calls back saying they are gone. Sooo i immediatly call my dad and tell him the situation and he says he will be right over. He arrives with my mom( Big mistake as i told him specifacly NOT TO TELL MOM). Well they both arrive and i reluctantly show them Both my operation and my mom Looses it! She starts freaking out and i tell her its really not that big of a set up comparitivly speaking... She then storms out of my appartment and b4 she leaves she wishes me to get caught.... My dad on the other hand kept his cool the entire time:clap: BTW Both my parents smoke pot, more so than i do!! We both begin cutting down the crop which was basically ready any ways and put every thing in to trash bags. We then take down all the growing equipment and throw it all in to the trunk of his car. Then we take a ride to the not so far away wilderness and dump all the containers and root balls(we kept the actually weed). Then we go back to my parents house and dump all the grow equipment in to the garage and we put all the weed under the house in the basement.

All in all a very scarry event, infact iv never been more terrifyed in my entire life!! But as long as u take proper percautions u should never have the problem i had!

Dude if ur land lord enters with out a 24 hour notice its totally illegal!!! Even if he/she finds ur OP and turns u in all evidence will be thrown out the window and u will be let free. Its just like when police perform a warent less search, all evidence is inadmissable in court!!!! So they fuckd them selfs

Landlords are not cops, they didnt do an illegal search, if they tell the cops the cops can bust you. The cops didnt do the illegal search or employ the landlords to do so. They just got a call that there is weed there. Apartment/condo grows are a touchy subject, Any multi-family housing/building is a touchy place because if there was fire or flood damage, etc it could affect multiple suites.
