Trust me, you and I are singing from the same sheet of music. I must live in the Sedona of Texas. So many quacks with their magnet bracelets, chiropractors, healing lights, health food quackery but what really ticks me off is how many bonafide doctors or RN's get hooked on some of this shit. I'm not talking about a natural-path that couldn't make it thru residency, I'm talking an MD. My neighbor is a well respected RN and she got hooked by some OD who does a diet "specially designed just for you" based on what he sees in her eye iris. I told her too, "I hope you're not paying for this shit." Then there's quantum bio feedback at $150 per 1/2 hour session............

Everyone is looking for answers, a little ray of hope.

I know, when I saw that I immediately thought of Lawrence Ringo. He was inundated with similar advice, of which he adhered to, and he was dead a month and a half after he was diagnosed -- go figure.

Great point. Those guys, we, go way back to the posting days of OG and CW. Lots of legends about those two. If memory serves me correct Shantiaba was jailed or imprisoned for his cannabis antics in Switzerland. I remember all the drama when he got out. He sold his seeds and made contacts thru the old pot sites. The daily drama posted at a subsequent website, Planet Ganja where all of us migrated after Ron (Heaven's Stairway) and his OG/CW computers and seed biz were popped, was worse than a week of Oprah or the Dr. Phil Show.

I just finished up radiation for prostate cancer and my cancer doctor and I were having this discussion about the fraud in the industry with all the "dummies" using peer groups, half truths, and quackery to prey on people. Many in the medical field are not only getting out of the business due to all the red tape, bureaucracy, litigation issues, etc., intelligent talented youth are not going in as future medical doctorial candidates. Like she said, "we are creating a massive group of dummies who won't have the skills needed to treat." Let's see that chiropractor or that home birth nurse take care of a mother who's in labor with twins that are sideways in the womb, needing an emergency C section.

But I digress........ :)

Happened to a well known and beloved RIU and Riddle3m member, Lumi aka Max. He refused bonafide medical treatment and died of all kinds of medical complications leaving a widow who is crushed. She really loved that man. He was too hard headed, too wrapped up in his fringe ideology to save himself.

While I don't see cannabis as a go-to for reversing a life-threatening illness, it certainly has many applications that ease pain and help those with seizures.

Since marijuana is a schedule I drug it's almost impossible to have extensive research on the many benefits of cannabis in this country. We can thank drug companies, privatized prison systems, and the entire infrastructure that spends billions on the "war against drugs" for keeping marijuana from being explored for its medical benefits. They have billions and billions of dollars to lose if pot is dropped from the schedule I list.

I forgot what I was watching but there is a bill being introduced to Congress with the intent to change that schedule, remove it.

I just think the notion that cannabis is some sort of cure-all must be an odd and misguided reaction to a past history of exaggerated health risks. It does work great for nausea and a few other things that most likely vary from individual to individual but I would bet that today's pot shops must look something similar to the pharmacies of and before the great depression. You know, because drugs like scrofula syrup were proven to cure ailments such as headache, nervousness, insomnia, cancer, abscesses, goiter, rheumatism, and liver disease. o_O

Makes sense. It is nice to rub it in the faces of those who stand and stood legalization in the way, that the plant does have medicinal value, the danger is in taking it too far.

Although not cannabis we have a well-known case in NL. I won't mention her cause it's such a cliche thing to do, especially by the naysayers but let's just say she was one of a kind. By the time she accepted regular treatment it was too late.

I agree, and really that "ease pain" benefit alone makes it a crime against humanity.

cannibis makes it so my brother dosent have seizures no more .pharma cuticals never could.I got first hand exp. bro had seizures for 25 years uncontrolled before this hippie got him the miricle plant.

radiation is ,and has never been proven to cure cancer,after chemo,you have only so long to live.i bet your doctor loves you ,he makes a lot of money for poisoning you with radiation.our medical system is a joke .so is your doc.

I find it all very interesting, especially the stories about early breeders and seed companies (it's such a mess nowadays, it's like the Hobbit, I don't care who any of those dwarves or elves are). I know nothing, it's all hearsay, but it seems none of them is telling the complete truth. Which makes it so interesting.

This is just conjecture but why the hell would anyone give away 25% percent of their company to some guy they just hired to water the plants? And he gives the entire staff in GHS 25% because they're family and he's so nice.........really? Smells fishy but maybe he's just that upset over perceived slights that he finds it necessary to diminish any actual role Shanti played in the company. Either way, it's interesting how far apart their stories are.

The chemo killed my step dad. He was better off not having it, it made him so sick for the last year of his life, if he didn't have it be would have had a better life even if he still passed. He barely could move for the last 3 months before he died and was on life support for the last month. It killed his cancer but in the process killed him. He never smoked pot until he found out he was stage 4 and I helped him with meds being he was in Florida, he said it helped him so much and coming from someone that never smoked huntil his 60s, I think that is some great words coming from a man like him.
