I found as long as you got good circulation then you will be fine high heat is okay long as the humidity is low and you keep good air flow my last grow with both 600 watt hps on the temps always around 30C and still had good results yes they would of been better if the temps were lowering but still had a good yield

what kind of inline fan have you got in the room and where is that air coming from...?

on your cooltube is your fan pushing or pulling air ?
Are you ducting that hot air out of the room ?
the best way to test how close you can get your light is the old hand test its never done me wrong if its to hot for your hand its to hot for your plants find as you are in stretch mode now don't lower to much but find where that sweet spot in where its not to hot for your hand at put in 2" above that as the plants can grow 2" in a day

Hey bro, I have a 100mm ezi air centrifugal fan connected to a 100mm carbon filter, that ducts out of the growin are and where it draws air in.

I have a 150mm inline fan connected to the cool hood, which draws from outside of the tent, and then pushes through the cool hood and then is ducted out of the grow area.

What I plan in doing when I finish this grow is replace the centrifugal fan and filter with something like a 200mm fan and use it to also cool the hood.

Ok update time.

So I have made an adjustment to my setup. All I have done is taped up the ducting to the cool hood. It had sagging from when the light was lower. This way the air should flow through the cool hood quicker. I'll update later on my temps. I've put the light back to 18 inches off.

Anyway here she is day 7 from 12/12. I can also see little pistils appearing :)

Well it was a good idea taping up the ducting to and from the cool hood. Light is 18 inch off and it's sitting at a nice 25.9c.

Yeah good shit bro making sure that line is air tight will help ducting is cheap and if you ever get holes just replace it remember the closer you can get that light the fatter tighter colas you will have :) :bigjoint: weed is a light slut so long as you can keep the heat down

Do you think I should drop it lower. Could prob get it even lower. It's 18 at the moment and only 25.6

Just do the hand test if its to hot for your hand its to hot for the plant now that you have good air flow you should really be able to get it really close with the cooltube i just use a shade and my light is 12" above my plant at the moment just lowered it again last night

long as you have a fan blowing over the top of the plant she will be fine :)

Good stuff i only burned a plant in my first grow that's because i was trying to see how close i could get it and had it about 6inchs away :D

let's just say it didn't go well for that bud she was cooked but i just cut it off and smoked it anyway :D

Haha classic. I lowered it to 15inch and as it's a cool night it's sitting at 25 still. This weeks going to be a lot cooler at night

Might drop it down some more

Sweet been able to lower it to 12 inch at 27c. Think I'll leave it there for a few days. The cool temps at night this week are sweet haha. Next week it will get hotter again. So will worry about that next week.

So she is now 9 days into 12/12 and still stretching nicely.

I've counted over 50 potential tops so to speak :). Which is exciting as I would normally only have say 10-15 on a plant not scrogged

When should I stop tucking them under the screen? I've got a fair bit of vertical room left

Hey All,

I grew a Big Bang in my backyard this past summer. She got huge, about seven feet. I harvested her at the end of September. I got a little over a half pound of green apple / pine smelling bud. A little bit of a challenge to trim but it was worth it. The yield would have been bigger if she had a little more direct sunlight. But I needed to be stealthy. Oh well not bad for a six dollar seed. You're grow looks great. Keep it up.

Peace

Q:When should I stop tucking them under the screen?
A: depends on how tall you want your colas you can have lots of smaller one or stop now and let it get some height

I stopped about 10 days in so i could get longer colas just make sure if any colas get more stretchy then the others just tuck them under so you get that nice even canopy

One other thing, with the cool weather this week, I'm able to get the light under 10 inches away at a nice 27-28c
