thanks! i m very proud of my babies, as are we all ;-)
now i ve got a new questions. once i know which are female do i have to continue with veg or can i start 12/12 right away? how do i know when i can start 12/12? i dont have a lot of room so i can let them grow too big.
as usual, your wise feedback is always appreciated!
Well, you won't be able to tell which are female until you start 12/12, actually it will probly be a week or 2 after you start it. That's when they start to develop either balls in the males or preflowers in the females. Also, during flowering a plant usually doubles in size, so if you're limited on space let them get about half as big as you would like them to end up and then start flowering.

O yea, and you can start 12/12 whenever, the only difference it will make is in the yield, the later you start the more weed u get.. ;)

The rule of thumb given above is good - 2-3x the height as when you put them on 12/12. Keep in mind also that you don't want the tops of the plants to be right on the lights, as it will prevent them from properly illuminating the whole plant.

I can't see the top of your grow area, but they're getting fairly big. You can also train them down using LST if they get out of control, or just because it's fun and will increase your yield.

oh yeah, they look good. looks like they enjoyed their transplant.

Okay I have a question...... I have a thread that I dont know how to attach it here.
I am growing under fluros which I read in the beginning of this thread isn't the best type of fluros (the equivelent) and the bad part is I already spent my budget on them pretty much. They are 3 weeks old and only at best 3'' . Some people are saying that I am not being patient but they are growing slower than I would think...

sorry accidently posted it my stupid computer, anyway so its grown in soil and I am using 10-10-10 fert. I dont know if I am just not having patients or if there is a way to get them to grow faster. Also tonight I just put mylar around the plants and the inside of the pots to get the light all around it thinking it might work, there is flat white paint in the grow area..... would appreciate the help!!!!!!!!!

Start your own thread. Don't hijack this one. Click the MJ Growing link above at left, select a forum, and then lick 'new thread'.

I read your post. Start another thread or bump your thread.

If you wanted people to visit your thread, you should have put it in your signature or post.

My point is that this thread is not where you post your problems about your plants.

to anyone that I offended on this thread I am sorry for 'hi-jacking' the thread I didn't realize thats what I was doing.... I thought it was similar to my situation so I didn't think it was bad to post my problem...... so once again I didn't realize it and I have went back to my thread.......... and now understand how this site works... thanks.

hi everyone! this is my first and i ve improvised with my clever partner coming up with this. could you give me some feedback? Do they look well? how long until i can distinguish the males from the females? the lamp we have currently is a 250 watt hml mixed mercury by phillips. Is it enough? What other things will we need in the short term? thanks a lot!
happy smoke!
they look normal. soon theyll shoot to the sky. feed em normal, water em normal, let nature take its course. its not your wrong doing. its going to grow, just let it.

:joint: Ok, so some time has gone by now. I think they are looking great. We are deciding when to flower but we guess may be in two weeks. some of the leaves are like bending down, may be the dont have enough room. but they are growing like hell. i cant tell their sexes yet... we as usual tips and advice appreciated!!!

Yeah, two weeks would probably be good. They look very good. I would guess that the tips are due to over or underwatering. Are you currently feeding them? If you haven't yet, you should probably flush them next time you water. Just wait until the soil is fairly dry and water with 2-3x the volume of the pot with plain water. Then feed them the next time you water after that.

What wattage is that light? You should turn it 90 degrees, as most of the light is emitted from the side. A reflector - even if homemade - would also help a lot.

Depending on the wattage, you can leave those CFLs in there too - they can't hurt.

If ya take some pics of the top half of the plants internodes(clear pics) I could prob sex those or ya. Plus I would say transplant into a larger container and bud a week later. Many plants triple there height and rem HPS lights only penetrate about 1.5 feet of the canopy with potent light.
