Bagseed Grow: T5 High Output Lights

has anyone ever heard of using green t5's to veg and red to flower? it decreases yield but i heard it makes the bud potent
this is kinda what me and Rollbluntz were getting at. they aren't true green and red bulbs (if anything you'd call them blue and red though) they are just different spectrum's. 6500k(ish) is a blue spectrum light, which is better for veg growth, and something cooler like a 3700k(ish) bulb is a 'red' spectrum, better for flower.

I was unable to get red spectrum lights in time for either of my grows (funds limited) so have been using the 6400k they came with since the start. they have indeed given me good results, but, i am starting to think that maybe the foxtails i have been getting are because of it. Ive kept my heat under control, used both bagseed and mail order genetics, and both grows now have gotten them. I am kinda eager to get some red ones for next time and see if foxtails still appear, would be interesting if they didn't.

i have had that happen to me once with the "getto buds".. i guessed it was from heat but i never got any other feed back as to another cause..

stay out of the getto.. or should i say keep the getto out of your buds..

fox tails arent bad, they usually happin at near the end of the plants life, its just a last spurt of growth really. ive grown in extreme heat indoors and never got the foxtails from heat it could also happin from the genetics.

Here is an update. She's beginning to look pretty crazy and the buds are swelling pretty good for being this early in flowering. Leads me to believe they could get pretty fat by the time harvest rolls around.:leaf:

Ha thanks man you have almost the same lighting and those white widows should look pretty impressive under some t5s.

For sure man T5s may not be the best but they get the job done. Thanks for the post.
not the best for flower but one of the best for vegging IMO its less to run then MH lights and less heat, i wanted to get T5's when i was growing for veg but at the time a small 2x2 4 bulb fixture was about 120 so i just got a 200 watt cfl for 80 and it is kinda the same thing.
buds are lookin good so far aswell
