Bagseed Grow: T5 High Output Lights

That's a great harvest, bigv. You didn't keep the canopy that far from the lamp though (as seen in your pictures), did you?
Yeah I literally kept the light 1" above the tallest cola and I had a pretty even canopy so it was close to all of them really. Dont forget this too, a lights lumen rating is at 12" and my light is rated for 30,000 spread evenly so really when that light is 6" from the plants they are actually recieving closer to 50,000 lumens. Thats why I really cant bring myself to much pay attention to many opinions on lights here because everybody just jumps on the HPS dick and they dont even understand lights and how they really work. My T5 at 6" is giving my plants far more light than a 400 watt HPS at 18" and it is a much more useable spectrum for the plants. If you know how to grow and manage a canopy you can grow just as well with a T5 as any light. Oh and 1 more thing while I am rambling. My T5 gives every plant the same amount of light. With an HPS the plant directly below the light is getting 3x as much light as a plant 2' either side of the light so that is another thing to consider. Everyone wants to scream lumens but when you look at the whole picture you will see that its not the only thing to look at.

Hey bigv I was wondering when you would show up here with those ridiculously magical looking t5 grown plants! Thanks for posting man and what was the kelvin color of your bulbs 2700k or a mixture or what?
Yeah I do pimp that grow like its gold huh? The thing is I bought that light cuz heat was kicking my ass and I had a "AHH it's better than nothing" attitude about the light and when it started flowering and it was doing as well as it did I was yeah man Fuck HPS. I do still have my HPS but I cant see using it anytime soon. Bu any way to answer you and Dez I run 3000k bulbs all the time. Thanks for the compliments on the grow too guys. I appreciate every comment.

Man all these people on here that hate on T5s or say anything adverse about flowering with them either havent tried it or they dont know how to grow. Here is my grow in a 2x3 screen with a 4 foot 6 bulb T5. This is at 5 weeks and the final yield was 318 grams. Do the math. That is 6 grams shy of 1 per watt. I dont see too many people coming close to that with their magical HPS lights.
nice grow with the T5. and very nice pull of of the plants.
but hps does in a way help produce more, like i said CFL and t5 can grow great buds with great yields, but a hps will help increase the yeilds

I'll definitely be getting 4 of the 3000K bulbs for my T5 light and using it for the autos. I really like the lower temps and it really seems to give off such an evenly distributed amount of light. They are great lights, no doubt but I'll most likely be sticking with my 600HPS for flower. At least until next summer and if it get's hot again, I'll get this T5 fixture at the local hydro shop that's a 4'X either 8 or 10 tube fixture. I can't remember which it is but would really like to just go for broke and get the 12 tube one but it's too wide for my room.

I've seen a grow that's using the 12 tube fixture and it's really looking nice. Scrog like yours and little colas everywhere...

I looked it up. 50 bucks is cheapest I found it for and I could just buy another t5 ballast and add another light for that. I may just wait and maybe try it next time. Oh I am adding another t5 light to this a friend has an empty ballast that holds 1 4 foot bulb so I'm gonna buy me a 3000k bulb to put in it.

them plants dont look half bad.. prety nice to be honest.. it looks like you had some stretch during veg but not much..

Yea that stretch came from a time I wasn't gonna be able to check on my plants for a while so I was forced to move the light up to compensate for some growing room to prevent burning the shoots but other than that I'm happy with it.
