Take a shot .. But have other plants that known fems going too. They can produce and had to kill off 3 out of 8 plants which ain't too bad but as soon as I see nuts time to kill it.

This " mexi weed " had seeds and I grew just to see what the plant really looks like when flowering properly not rushed to the guy on the street corner.

Nice, that looks healthy and very saliva looking.

OG came from bag-seed...Do we need to start a list?...so many distortions of what can actually happen.

Is it a reverse? Probably....does it mean its worthless, hardly? Reversed strains have no more chance of becoming reversed than a regular male/female line......bad info repeatedly says otherwise..but genetically these types of traits are survival instincts in the genome of ALL plants..some are expressed some aren't, the potential exists in ALL plants, again. Thanks.

many strains are reverses of reverses...don't be fooled by all the horseshit.
Abiqua, are you saying that a plant I can get from bag seed is just as stable as the seeds I can get from breeders online? I have a plant that I got as a bag seed off some quality bud and it hasn't seeded on me the first round. I've always thought that hermie is a bad genetic trait some plants have and if you grow a seed from hermie it will turn into a hermie at one point.

In theory yes, A good breeder is only as good as the genes they start to work with...
Breeders all the time release F1's that are unstable as all hell and then there are breeders [Dj Short] who is quoted as saying that nothing released is less than an F5!
Google around and see how many people complain about a certain "regular" strain showing balls...happens alot...

One problem from a reversed seed, bagseed especially, is, that you probably don't know the history of the parents...and you will have to really inbreed to make selections that worth taking a look at.....if its grounds to be a keeper at some point.....the breeder in some cases, will know the lineage of their breeding stock [hopefully].

There are many lines with selfing abilities, all the little mysteries throughout the various IBL lines worldwide... the only problem I can think of breeding with bagseed [usually fems] Moms.....is that you probably want to eventually backcross to make sure you have some stability, because technically you only have 1 copy of genes in a reverse, you will need to eventually outcross to a stud, if its stable AND losing vigor.

Here's a question, what about seed from some regs, I got this purple shit that was loaded with seeds, like 15/oz. It's what I currently have growing, I figure it's some good that was field grown and uncontrolled, after all, 1 male in a field can pollinate quite a large area. Think I've got a good chance at some fire?

I want to share that my first grow was from bagseed. When I was rolling a joint I found two seeds, and I couldn't believe they came from the fire weed I was rolling.
I know now it was a og dominate strain with hermaphroditism tendencies. I grew it for four rounds before I bought my first seeds from the 'tude.
That shit ignited my passion for cultivation :-)

My seed came from buds I got from a dispensary. The seed grows just as good of buds, if not better than the original. I'm wondering how stable it is because I'm revegging that plant since I didnt take any clones from her.

Mine too game from OG lineage. OG was a bag seed itself.

I recently found a seed in a dispensary bud. The strain was a stomper cross. I think it was gage green ogxstomper or something like that. It was off the top shelf. I totally would have ran that bitch if I wouldn't have damaged it. I did not tell the dispensary about my find.

Time will tell :) ....I am of the opinion of keeping everything, come hell or highwater..I just catalog, even the shit.

I just watched and listened to Mr Soul on AD show...he was talking about history of his genetics, [Cinderalla99, Apollo's etc.] and C99 came from a bag of Jack Herer in Amersterdam and he thinks it was an F2...That seed gave him the Princess and was has female for the C99 mainly....kinda cool to see Brother Grimm back after 13 years or so.....:peace:

With all the time and expense involved when considering everything else but seeds, why fuck around with a possible loss? Humor me. I'm an old Marine and retired RN and like to hear other people's views on some of these things. Toss those damned things in a garbage disposal.
I have the opposite view. I have saved and grown seeds from bags of fire. It its fine. Chance for a hermi, yes. How many breeders found their jewel in bag seed?

I don't know. I see both sides. In my indoor limited space grow, I use stable fem seed from breeders. Outside, I plop all kinds of bag seed down. Mexi brick to.

Curiosity killed the cat.

Most bagseed i have had came out pretty decent but now im stuck because my cousin gave me a big bag full of seeds and said it was a purple strain not specifying at all. So now im pretty much playing roulette. They stink bad tho. Moral of the story just go for it

Don't get me wrong here. I have done it and will. Chemdawg arose from a single seed in a bag of smoke from a Grateful Dead concert. But a whole lot of folks read these posts later and so many seem to have
  1. Limited space
  2. Limited light capability
  3. Money issues buying everything
So, again, if I only had the space for a plant or two I would not do bagweed unless I had no other seeds.

True. I'll agree that is probably the best thing to do in that situation.

Geez he's told you they were purples of some kind. Lot less mystery there. Go for it!
