People following rules can be fun too. Most games have rules, and most are actually much MORE fun when everyone follows them. At least that's been my experience. Honestly, the kinda attitude you are describing would be FINE if there weren't sponsors and prizes. It's fine that YOU aren't overly concerned about winning a prize, but that doesn't make it wrong for that to matter to other people. There there are prizes, that matters to a lot of people, and there's no rule that says "Must not care about winning a prize". If you want a truly lighthearted comp, maybe start one that isn't sponsored, without explicitly stated rules. It can be the "First Annual Any Size Cup, Update Whenever You Want, We're Just Playing for Funsies Competition". I'm sure most people here aren't in it just for the prizes, but it would still suck to NOT get one because someone placed above you who didn't get DQ'd for breaking rules that you followed.
