I agree about the one mulligan/free pass for being late more than 1 day...if it's one day late, I don't think that it should be counted against someone unless it begins a trend as some others have stated. I think 1 freebie late pass-2 less than 25 hour tardies allowed and that's it. If you have already used your free passes up then you should not be given any more.

Sure, it's a growing competition but if you can't abide by the rules then you can't play the game.

Life DOES happen, but I don't see why you can't take a photo with the 5 minutes you spend with your girls? At least once a week everyone should be able to check on their plants, regardless of life getting in the way. If you know you will be out of town or whatever, do the rest of us a favor and post a day early...it's not like it even matters that much until we start getting closer the end anyway?

I say what the f*** ever,I will remove my DQ vote everyone that posted late so far except for overgrow. but to add in a roll that gives everyone more than 7 days to update I don't agree with. to all of the people that say you have a life and don't sit around the computer more than one of us have two jobs a family and grow you have 7 days to take about three to five minutes of your time and post a picture. yes the competition may have started as fun many competitions ago. what is in the past it's not always what the present is and anybody that wants to hold a grudge because you were late and got called out on it regardless of when it happened, don't make excuses of why just follow the rules they're simple

shit just drop it and frozen will.decide what ever when he gets back on here. Does it really take 3 pages of debate that has no.say in anything. I said my piece. And I didn't have to make 8 more posts explaining my views. If you don't like his decision, you should hope to win and change the rules to your liking.

just a thought for future cup comps. What does.everyone think of 24 oz cups. Get some 2 zipper winners lol

Also, I'm sure there were some people who would have LOVED to compete, but looked at their schedule and thought "You know what, I really can't commit to weekly updates right now, so I'll hold off for the next one when my schedule isn't so booked".

Well if Frozen ISN'T responding, there's always the chance that the issue will get buried and he will never chime in. There were several pages of discussion about cup size, but by the time frozen came back all he had seen was Med Man's post about Provision, and hadn't even noticed that there WAS a cup size issue (even with Bryleetch tagging him in the discussion). So I could see the merit of keeping the conversation going UNTIL he chimes in, especially with his proclivity towards going with the general consensus.

the comp is supposed to be fun with light hearted corny trash talk. It seems constant attacks and voting for dq's. This comp is no longer fun. It has become more cut throat. Its needs to get back to the way it once was. I'd like to win a prize. If I don't , no big deal. Its not like i lost anything anyway. ... Frozen busted his ass for the extra sponsors. Which is great for more beyond 1st -3rd.

People following rules can be fun too. Most games have rules, and most are actually much MORE fun when everyone follows them. At least that's been my experience. Honestly, the kinda attitude you are describing would be FINE if there weren't sponsors and prizes. It's fine that YOU aren't overly concerned about winning a prize, but that doesn't make it wrong for that to matter to other people. There there are prizes, that matters to a lot of people, and there's no rule that says "Must not care about winning a prize". If you want a truly lighthearted comp, maybe start one that isn't sponsored, without explicitly stated rules. It can be the "First Annual Any Size Cup, Update Whenever You Want, We're Just Playing for Funsies Competition". I'm sure most people here aren't in it just for the prizes, but it would still suck to NOT get one because someone placed above you who didn't get DQ'd for breaking rules that you followed. (Especially when by not following them gives you an advantage, e.g. you could grow a bigger plant with bigger cup, you could have longer to choose a plant after they show sex with late update, etc. All the rules are there for a reason)

that's how this one started out. Then dawg offered prizes. It was the host that supplied the prizes. Then the first sponsor was fero. They flaked out on giving the prize to @puffenuff so area 51 covered. Then me n @chazbolin got inda gro to come in.. I guess its our fault that it ended up like this. It always seems to be the noobs to the comp that cause all the issues. . It was originally only first place gets a prize. Then 1st and 2nd then 1st -3 rd. Now there's 15 prizes. People are finding any excuse to dq someone. Weekly is a loose term its does not specify every 7 days.

So the people who are "Causing all the issues" are the people who are calling people out for breaking the rules? Personally I look at it the other way. There are rules. They were broken. The ones who broke the rules caused the issue, not the ones who noticed it and spoke up. Whistle blowing isn't the issue, the fact that there are things happening that require whistle blowing IS the issue. Guess my thought on how to go about establishing cause are just different than yours.

Whatever frozen decides is good with me. Tough call...either way i think its good people are watching the rules

On another note, checked on my girls today and all was well, except for my contestant. Seems this caterpillar liked her the best too. She did a pretty good job munching the leaves

Anyone know how to get rid of these things?

@ hyroot any excuse? what all excuses have you heard 4 DQ, there's been people DQ'd all for the same type of reason, not following rules. I understand what you mean about to be getting things strictly for fun with no pricesI understand what you mean about it starting out as strictly fun, then prizes came in, so it had to be a little more serious, and they keeps growing. one day we may have a hundred and fifty people, should we take it less serious, with the same serious, or more serious as it moves away from the idea of friendly fun, too the idea of a true competition.

Spray BT (Bacillus Thuringiensis), and fast, before it's too late in flower to spray. It's totally organic, it's a fungus that ONLY hurts caterpillars, it is totally human and pet safe, it is rated as safe to spray on edible plants the same day as harvest (Although with our kinda plant's I wouldn't spray past the first few weeks of flowering, once there are sizable buds you run the risk of budrot)
