I've been at RIU since couple of months and this is my first post. Simi, your plants are just amazing!! You are doing great job. I learned much things from your journals, especially about C99. I'm also running couple of C99's in my garden this season.(not outdoor version). I've been told that it's better to grow her in indoors but I think it's worth to try.

And just a question. What happened to your nevilles haze as you mentioned before? Did you finished her? How long it took? I've got 5 of them under 400w HPS at 12th day of flowering and couldn't find any grow journals about it. I just wonder how long will flowering take and what will buds alike. I vegged them too long and the summer came. I'm little worried about heat but they are fine now. This is my first grow and the street weed that I can find at here is just garbage. That's why I am sooo excited

yeah, I hear ya man! I grew up in a place where the only weed you were getting was crappy overdried buds with stems and leaves in it. I did not even know that there is any better, nor that there was more than one type of it..

Glad you enjoyed reading them. During those two years I made all possible mistakes there was to make. Documented it and glad that couple credible people took me under their wing. My growing experience turned to something way more exciting.

I'm still learning as I go. Our understanding I guess is quite limited to our growing rooms. You can know the best recipe for outdoor growing, but it will be worthless for micro grows.

About nev.haze.. well this Nev Haze today is more like a legend, and many seed banks claiming they have that one. I grew the one from female seeds, and there should be some pics of her few pages back. But because my Malawi was like 3feet in diameter my NevH was forgotten in the shade and really poorly grew. I got like 14grams of some 'meh' high.I will definitely will be doing another run and this time a proper one.
Drop me a link if you have a grow thread. I would be glad to sub ;)
Cheers

I don't have a grow journal for now cause I feel my english is not capable of for running one. It will be very difficult to understand all the posts and reply them. I'm taking help from dictionary everytime and I wrote my previous post in about 15 minutes LOL. Maybe for my following grows. But I'll post the pictures of my girls.

My nevilles hazes' are from female seeds company too, that's why I asked you about flowering time. It says we can chop her at day 60 but it's hard to believe that haze can finish in 60 days. Plus I don't think that my high will be 'meh' cuz this is my first time with some real genetics. Believe me sometimes I find myself jumping in grow room from happiness

Thank you for feeling me dude. Namaste.

Wow went couple posts back and see how long ago I've posted something here. Will make some pics tomorrow. Doing alright. This run is very passive and slow But I'm enjoying my summer so not really worrying too much :D
from 7 beans I soaked now I'm flowering 2 pineapple express and 1 wonderland.

Besides harvested already 3 flushes of mushrooms. 30g dried so far. Usually I or my friends take 2-2.5g per trip, so have this year covered already.

I've never tried mushrooms, and I'm dying to try them out!

I guess I should try growing some myself...

How would the high/trip compare to weed?

Well imo both are recreational. But weed is more like resting on sofa while shrooms are like mountain hiking.
The thoughts that weed unlock is nothing compared to what shroom does.
Shrooms go two ways. explode with colors and with the beauty of sound. Everything that you enjoyed viewing or listening to will tripple. But also some deep philosophical knowledge touches your brains. You zoom in in your head till you see bacterias fingernails and next second zoom out till all cosmos is on your hand. Patterns, fractals, all that comes to mind. But that is what my trips are about. Yours will be something of what you are ;) It really calms you down and gives you this pure happyness that only little children unaffected by the rules of this world have.
And the best part is that you get to keep the experience. It's not like some narcotic high that makes you happy and after it's gone you wish you had more. It's something that gets unlocked in your head and you know that what you saw is real and it's constantly around you. It's magic :)

damn.... you sold that very well! Now I want some very badly!!!! =P

What kind of mushrooms do you grow?

I haven't tried a lot. Just mexican and thai. Thai was easy to grow, big mushrooms, easy heavy harvest. Mexican were thin and stretchy. Got mold on mexicans after 2nd flush.
I liked more Thai, but I also gave it a fair amount of tests.
Since mexicans went moldy, I had it only once and I felt that I should have taken more. Felt like I was not fully there. This is what happens when your limited amount you try to spread between 5 people :D
Do not know how others differ, but Thai for me so far is hats down. But if it's not available where you are go for something like mexican. Can't miss with that.

So decided to finally grab the camera and post an update. Been a while since I took pic in a garden.
Currently running 5th flush of mushrooms. Here's some harvested. from 4 flushes got like 35g dried.

Something in general. Even if I lef them veg for quite some time, they were not rushing. And after the flip I did not experience much of vigorous growth or stretch. Pineapple expresses filled only half vertical available space. Wonderland filled half of what PE did.

This is PEs only. The one in front is leafier

PE at the back lost some bottom leafs and now is looking quite naked.

Wonderland.
That wonderland went boobies after all. Such a weird plant. It's already flowering for a while now but even up to this date, I do not see a single preflower on it. Budsites only. Extremely short with tight internodes. Not sure if that's because of genetics, or my environment, which lately I could describe as far from being dialled in. Cold temps, hot temps, also fan broke and I was out of country for over a week.
WL bud closeup.

Check out this. Because it's so tight it looks like the picture was resized without keeping ratio. Maybe it also have to do a bit with angle of pics taken. I was about to write that it looks like it was growing high in the mountains and then this idea came to my head that for couple weeks my fan was broken, so maybe lack of air could have influenced this?

PE's
Not much to comment here. Just wathing them flowering. They do smell lovely, becoming sticky.

And this is SC#3 that I revegged. Draw a thin black line to indicate where it was cut at harvest. The plan is to take cuttings and drop the rest. Cause I'm losing a lot of height with this one.

Wzup boys and grls, so some news. A forum buddy flied over to Amsterdam and gave me a pleasant visit. It's so nice to meet some think alike people and have an evening or two together. so much to talk and to show.
So he introduced me to bho oil. And I like it so fckn much! Once he said I can do that myself I got stuff that was needed and we did one batch. 2.5g of some sticky amber looking syrup. Totally love it. Still have trimmings for 2more batches. Once I saw how much it cost per gram, that made my day haha

Also dropped some more seeds.
1x White Widow x Big Bud fem
1x Good Dog fem
3x Back to the congo reg

So another update.
I really need to veg longer under this gas schedule. Plants filled only half the space I was planning them to..
Wonderland did not stretch at all. Such a runt.. Smells very sweet. Like a candy. Love the smell although PE smells even better, more refreshing, citrus fruity.
Looks also like she is going to finish soon. Not that many white pistils on her. I wish I cut N excess on her earlier. Can't get a grip on this overferted soil I have.
length between 1st node and the tip: 6-8"
Nodes: 7

Pineapples are packing up very nicely. They're stretchier, but far from being lanky. Totally love the smell. Was afraid that those aren't gonna yield much, but they keep packing and pushing new pistils.
length between 1st node and the tip: 15"
Nodes: 8

This is where things went wild. Second Good Dog seed sprouted without a prob, and in 48+ hours I already had it breaking through the soil.
I have 5 new seedlings:
3x Back to the Congo,
1x Big Budx White Widow,
1x Good Dog
That would be no problem. Except that there is this Serious Casey#3(miss Frostyness) revegged and I also yesterday took 6 cuttings. TIGHT... In case cuttings would not survive my experiment, I also left revegged mother be.

Finally I got to using this bubble cloner I made 5 months ago. Saw on a friends thread and really liked this method, if things will go as expected, they'll be rooted within 6-8days.
Now here's the story: Yesterday I took the cuttings and I had to leave, not trusting my device too much I made a humidome above it. This morning got relieved when I saw that cuttings went totally fine through the night. So today I went ahead and removed the dome. Well after 6 hours they're still looking all happy. Will be such a long week sitting in the room and waiting for the roots to show up

Looking great! I specially love the look of that pineapple!

Care to take a moment to enlighten us on the gas schedule, and how well it's treating you?

You would like the smell even more :)

About gas lantern.. as you alr know it's 12/5.5 / 1/5.5 schedule widely used in commercial greenhouses.
While you burn less electricity, you keep plants vegging. Also supposedly after flip, plants should respond quicker to flowering cycle. And they should stretch less. I did notice the benefits of stretching less, however did not see any noticeable quicker flowering. But maybe that works on plants with 5+ weeks of vegging.

Does it impact plant development speed noticeably?
If you where to run it side by side with a standard 18/6, would they have a major difference?

Well it's a difficult question to answer my friend. As even under the same conditions same strain seeds sprout and grow differently. I would need to test on clones rooted at the same time to be actually able to tell something. Lately I've been sprouting a lot of regular seeds and needed to sex them before they fully went to flower so I could plan who and with who will get pollinated. I was intentionally keeping them in small containers, stunning growth and letting them age. I was putting high hopes on getting preflowers during veg. On some plants it worked. On some I had to switch to flower and still wait 2 weeks. But as you can see there there more than one factor that changed.

I feel that 16/8 or 18/6 might grow a bit faster, but only some(far from doing that proportionally). And don't forget the ageing factor. Because the longer you keep plant in veg, the better root system it develops and the more it matures so at the flip day plant's more ready to start flowering.

I also feel that when getting familiar with a strain with a bit of extra vegging time and some training you could get bigger yields for the same vertical space due to tighter internodes and better root system.

and last but not least, this could be golden method for some sativa dominant strain, but may not bring any benefits at all to some indica dominant strain as they don't need that much of time to mature and their internodes are already tight. Also maybe time is your top priority.. Maybe electricity/heat/vertical space is not your problem. It all depends.. But when you know what are the possibilities, then you can adapt things to your room.
Cheers
