Hey man, sorry been away for a few days for work with very little internet access!
I used to use more base bloom nutes to keep my pH in range. I still had to adjust but only every few days and only slightly. The silica may be whats keeping yours high. I was only using about 2mL to 10L so my pH stayed pretty well on the 5.5-5.6. pH down is about our only option...either that or add a few drops of the XL to keep it in check. Its the same stufd pretty much. Both are phosphoric acid, just the XL is super concentrated so you wont need much extra :)
It's all good bro I knew you would reply whenever you got the chance. Thanks for the help as always man I really appreciate it.

I only asked about the pH during this time because it was rising the first couple days. Today is only the 2nd true day of having XL in the res and it's starting to stabilize now. It was just when I first fed it rose from where I had set it. Do you think the pH from the medium could've buffered it to be higher? Do you set the res pH right at 5.5 after mixing all nutes?

It did this to me the last grow too so I was expecting it. I think next time I will set it at a lower pH since it rose. I set it 5 and it rose to 6 but that was overnight so I will set it at 4.5 and see how that does. She's doing very well I can see how she's grown in only two days. No nute burn so I'm happy with that just watching her get massive!!!!!

Yeah sweet man, i'll definitely get on when i get a chance :)

I used to add the nutes and pH up to about 5.5 and then leave it for 24 to 36 hours and most times it didnt need too much adjustment after that. The plant can handle pH from about 5.3-6 during XL stage so dont stress too much about it hey, she'll be right.

bro!!!!! use z7 man you'll love that shit

it stabilizes pH really well and it's so good for your roots. Idk if you saw my thread on the white widow but I had a gnarly case of rot and z7 pretty much gave me a 100% recovery no shit! pictures are worth 1000 words

but yeah it's like 30 bucks tops??? you can get it online or hydro stores

I'm doing hempy right now too

Ok I was just wondering how you set the res up when using XL. I had let the res mix for 2 hours before I fed her and the pH was still at 5 it just rose overnight but it only reached to 6. I'm not stressing at all bro everything is going 100x better than last to round and I'm really excited to see how this girl is gonna flower. I was wanted to learn some stuff about these nutes.

also I mix my nutes the night before it seems to swing only by like .2-.3 and then at that time when I add in ph down it will stay put

I used to flush, fill up with fresh water, add nutes and XL (and pH up to 5.2) and leave it till after 1 or 2 waterings, then readjust to 5.6. After that i just left it and kept adding fresh water as they suck up the nutes pretty hard. Only thing you need to keep an eye on is the ppms. Try and keep that as even as possible. I had my EC at 1.6 for most of veg and she only burnt slightly when i used the floralicious :) these things can take it, and if they dont juat be ready to add heaps of fresh water lol

I believe you Patch, Duudical swears by it too. I don't have it in my shop but I can order it online. My pH has been pretty good this go round and I'm now thinking I should mix my nutes the day before to give them a chance to mix for a day. This may help the pH and it may not but doesn't hurt to try things.

UPDATE DAY 17 VEG WEEK 3
(From two days ago)

Sorry been a lil lazy with updating. Work and the fam is killing my time. That XL is some awesome stuff really does some good stuff. In the pix below it's had only been three days of using XL and she has really grown.

I think I have a lil too much Nitrogen in the res as this girl is very green and her tips are clawing a lil and are very dark with some huge fans almost a black color. Will cut the B1 Boost out for now till flower as this has all the major nutes in it.

That's me trying to push her as she is handling everything but doesn't need that much N. All in all she's still doing good and I'm miles ahead of last grow. I'm still learning with this hydro system but I think after completing this grow I'll be much better with it.

Here she is Day 14

Here she is Day 17

As you can see in the pix how dark the tips and some of the fan leaves are. She has a lil too much N but that's ok cus flush is tomorrow and one of her adds with N in it is not getting added so she should take off again. Still think I needed the pH a lil more stable this week with the XL added but I'm getting better with hydro and it won't be long before I'll be harvesting my first hydro crop!!! More pix tomorrow before flush

Mate, she is looking great hey! She is loving the XL as we can see. Good idea with the B1 boost too, i use it very sparingly in my grows and first sign of N toxicity i cut it out :)

Top stuff bro, you will be harvesting some fat chunky buds soon enough :-D

Thanks Eastcoast I know when you say she's looking good she's looking good. Yes she is loving the XL I think it would've been better if I could've kept the pH right but it's all good.
Yea I know when I getting too much of something an the leaves are saying too much N with tip clawing and how dark they are. I'm learning this system and nutes and it won't be long before this will be night and day. I can't wait till I start chopping buds down!!!

I dont think the pH has worried her mate, she's not locking anything out so she's all good. The drop in N will pick her up too. So you got another week or so of veg then flip mate? Cant wait to see this baby take off and bud for you :)

Yea your right about that so I can't complain :) Yea she has plenty of N in her so I'll prolly just use base, Silica and a lil Dr Repair cus that's strong too. The combo of that and B1 Boost is strong; she handled it tho she handles a lot but doesn't need a lot. I think I may veg her for 5 weeks but I don't know I'm jus gonna see how big she is in the next week and if I feel I want her bigger than I'll veg another week. I'm ready to flower this girl!!!!!!!

Sweet man, sounds like a good plan. I usually look at mine after 3 weeks (or 4 if they are slower growing or full indica) and do a quick estimation of stretch. If she looks like she'll stretch hard, i flip early to be safe. You have a fair bit of room though so 5 weeks sounds very reasonable and should give you a solid yield :-D

Ok Eastcoast I'll def keep that it mind. I'm pretty sure this girl has a lot of stretch in her so I think 5 weeks will be enough 6 is prolly pushing it but if I can keep this girl low it's possible. But I don't think I'll have enough room for the roots as it's only 10gal but I may. I'll see what happens in next couple weeks but I'm very anxious!!!!!;)

Sounds good man. I only use a 2.5 gal pot for mine and i pull 6-8 oz easily so a 10 gal should do you fine my man :) you are training her well already so i'd go with a 2.5 - 3 times stretch and go from there ;)

Well by what your telling me I should have plenty space then :) when I train I start as early as I can so I can have as many tops as I can before I start to flower.

I wish I didn't break the main in early veg. I wouldn't have that lil empty space with a small main I'd have beasts like the other. These branches are really thick. I've heard she's a stretcher and yielded so I'm hoping for something decent. Just gotta keep this girl green and happy and she will reward me

Yessir Nerd the XL is really good stuff. Long as I'm doing hydro and nothing organic I'll be using it as it works and helps the plant mature. She has a few pre-flowers on her now which is a good sign. Like Eastcoast said be ready for the stretch lol.

Man CYCO is really doing some good things. Didn't even know they sold a mix like this. My shop has the coco and I was gonna get that for my next run of reg seeds. Hopefully they have this mix cus I'd rather have the perlite in it for more air and drainage. I don't see where your being lazy if your not using a timed watering system you have to use a medium that has moisture retention so you don't have to water numerous times a day. Since that's a soiless medium water just enough so you can water/feed everyday if not every two day.

yeah i normally buy perlite and coco and mix myself but once i seen this i was happy saves me time and yeah like i said before my timers keep F#@king up so i find hand feeding easier and that way each plant gets a good drink i found the feeding rings a pain in the ass they don't water as good as you can by hand

also popped some new seeds yesterday they just cracked there way out of the rockwool

1 GHS bigbang
1 BS - Cheese Bomb

Good shit Nerd I'll be looking for some of it too if my shop doesn't have it I'll just get the coco and mix some perlite in it. I can't believe your timers are messing up like that I've had no problems with mines except my dog keeps bumping one when she's playing and will knock it off time by 20-30 mins lol she's strong.

I got one timer from the hydro shop it's the 15 min pin timer and the other I got is from Walmart it's a cheap 30 min pin timer and it works great. I agree the feed ring is a piece of crap. I've made the holes bigger on the feed ring so it flows more. Next run I'll make my own with T joiners and hose. Good luck with the new seeds. Gonna be popping me some soon but still undecided on how I wanna do it

dude I know you're working with a 1000 water you better veg her a lot longer than that :) especially if you keep tying her down like that :)

good call on taking it easy with the N it's good to see people who can spot it out and fix it before it gets bad. Hate seeing eagle clawed leaves all to shit and then people jump on here and ask what's going on with it lol.
