That is absolutely unnecessary if temps aren't going to get down to 32 degrees. People freak out waaaay too much about cool temps. Gonna be 36 here tonight and I'm not even going to cover my outside plants. Was 34 a couple weeks ago and the plant came through it just fine with no extra attention.

Focus on the trichs, pistils can be deceiving especially with an outside grow where there are lots of uncontrollable factors .

From those pics the trichs look pretty dark already but it's hard to tell without real closeup pics. How does it smoke? There's nothing like testing out the buzz to decide if it's ready!

Three days might be enough to transition to the curing process depending on the environment you're drying in. Do the buds feel spongy but dry on the outside? If so start curing. Just curious, your dry weight after three days off the whole plant was only 2.9 grams? Do you mean 2.9 Oz?

for about a hundred bucks you can get a foldout stake down 12 X 12 picknic shelter that would easily cover the entire plant and then some and withstand a good sized thunderstorm, but that's pretty neat too.

I've seen frosty buds that look completely bare the next day after a hard rain and are frosty again a week later, but, ok.
