madazz have you always used the cogr slabs? or did u switch over from canna's traditional coco line and containers?

just curious if you could compare the two?

always used the slabs, the are easy to use , can be re used - like i re used one set of 6 slabs for 7 or 8 times. gotta use lots of zyme.

i've always heard that multiple small feeds is optimal in coco. i've just never set-up a manifold-LAZY!! as for run-off wastage, you want run-off.

yes, but u do want miniumn run off other wise your throwing good nutes down the drain. i use RTW.

the run off acts as a daily flush to keep ec/ph and salt build up from getting too far off track, but if u are getting good results with very little run off, then thats all that matters i suppose.

was thinking about your question and as a matter of a fact i'm actually using Canna Coco (from the bag) as i'd started some girls in pots i couldn't repoty into slabb- not enough room so i got some clay balls (for drainage on bottom half inch and put canna coco in my slabb tray. My room is set up for slab trays. so was easiest to plant back into slab trays.

here are some planted in slab trays with above medium. Bubblelicious. I covered the coco to help keep wet and to cover any roots close to surface.

the girls still have 3 or 4 weeks to go. (the photos are from a while ago) so far results are good but nothing unusual. so as far as comparing the corg slabs with the actuall canna i have not noticed any difference.

sweet bro, ill come check it out now. always after a good journal to read.
i always use all canna nutes, coco A & B, PK 13-14, Rhizotonic, Canna Zym, CannaBio Boost. (just about to start using for 1st time) I love canna its the best!. i have used coco for probably around 5 years may be more its really hard to remember when i actually started using coco. before the coco i remember using potting mix, perlite, rock wool. mix of soil, perlite, vermiculite. and i still think best taste and results from coco! ill catch u in your journal.

ill get some pics tomorrow of how the bubblelicious is coming along now as aposed to the pics they have come along nicely.

Hello guys. Had a disaster with my first effort with canna coco pro plus. Been using biobizz for a long time and thought id give the coco a go because it sounded nice, and I could more or less use it as a replacement for soil which suited my manual feed/grow style. Started my seedlings in half pint cups and every thing was going well until my seedlings showed their first true leafs. all 5 babys turned very pale yellow with their tiny leaf tips browning.
They had been fed only ph6.0 water. I did try and give them a little kick with Monkey Juice coco A+B (1mil per liter) but it didnt help. In the end I lost the rag and threw the out due to frustration 8(

What should I chaps? Should I give up on the coco and go back to what im good at (BioBizz)? Or should I give the coco another chance with some help from you guys?

I did hear that coco can carry a bit of salt which can hinder young seedlings. Could I start them in some seedling soil that I get from my local grow shop? Or would the seedling soil tamper with the coco once they are both in the same pot (after I re-pot)?

use plain coco for sprouting seeds in small pots, the coco pro plus has nutes in it (ec of 1.3) and seedling dont need fert for a couple of weeks. once the plants are growing healthy you can transplant into bigger pots of your coco pro plus without worries.

sounds like it wasnt lack of nutes but a overdose.
actually sounds like your ph may have been off, is it possible that it was too high?

try to find a soiless medium to start the seeds and use small pots.
if you use a small 4" pot to start than when you transplant into your coco you wont be mixing mediums too much.

dude, how's it going it will probably take a bit to explain, but if you check out my grow, it might help you out a bit. been using coco for about two and a half years and i have it pretty well worked out. its really the easiest form or HYDRO out there. but hey, your more than welcome to stop on through.

you dont have to follow the e/c but it is helpful... actually maybe not in that terra pro plus since its not pure coco?. i dont have a lot of info on the pro plus but if you get the terra nutes from canna than u will be fine with no ec meter. just make sure you have some decent run off when you water to keep salts from building up.
your ph is fine.

fyi... if you grow in the plain coco than it IS hydro. you got some other ingredients in your terra pro plus and nutes, so its not really hydro anymore... otherwise coco grows are hydro.

hey i have a block of coco fiber and i am setting up a bubbleponics setup could i use this medium to go hydro in??? any help would be great i was thinking of putting half rocks then half fiber any suggestions??

i posted some ?'s in others' threads but maybe i'll be able to get a reply here...

i've been growing dwc but i have some gdp, hindu skunk and puprle kush vegging in coco, all different ages.

canna coco with added grodan croutons and perlite in 3gal pots with about 2" of hydroton in the bottoms. i hand water rtw about 1L/watering twice a day. gives some runoff, 1-2 gallons between 11 pots on a drain table.

i was feeding with gh floranova, advanced sensi cal and a knock-off b1 supplement that burnt the shit outta my girls (it took me a bit to figure out the cause).

after getting over the burns, all my girls had a growth spurt then their leaves got this funky texture thing going and the growing tips have withered. the younger leaves are pretty obviously damaged, they have a wrinkled up appearance, and the youngest leaves are burnt at all their tips. needless to say, growth has stopped again.

i flushed for two days and now i'm feeding with canna coco a+b according to their website's feed chart.

my question is if these girls are fukt. from my reading i think it is a potassium deficiency, which seems to jive with their lack of turgidity regardless of watering. due to budget cutbacks these girls are already outgrowing their modest veg setup and my flowering room is occupied for another month. i don't want to waste expensive nutrients/electricity/time if their screwed. if i have to i can go get a few more clones and try coco again in a couple weeks but if i can save them i'll try cuz clones certainly aren't free.

which brings me to ask, to reuse coco do i really need to treat it with anything between plantings (as in enzymes, etc. to clean it of dead roots)?

i wish i would have cloned my purple urkle before flowering.......

opinions please.

dude check out mt thread, it will might just answer your questions, hopefully.
but as far as the conditions of the babies, and this is an answer based on experience, it sounds like they have too much nutes stored in the leaves, that's my opinion. see the thing with canna coco is that it is great, but it is designed to work well with canna products, or coco specific products only. and as far as the feeding chart i have a breakdown of how i feed from clone to harvest. and its been tied and tested for the past two years, and i have a few pics of past harvest and crops to show for it. so hey that's just my two cents, check me out though.

next time just use plain coco... perlite is okay i guess but plain coco is what the nutes are designed for. Its not good to mix mediums if u dont have to.
plants look like they will be okay, use a super week dose of a/b to flush them out, if u have any rhizotonic, use it.
its also not a good idea to mix nutes from a bunch of different companies, unless u know yer shit.
