The Truth About Flushing

Cool, let it stand, I've been experimentin with T5's longer than you've been growin and as I have said the results of those experiments have been duplicated by others

These are simple truths that your blind hatred and closed mind are unable to process

I am not the one with the closed mind. You are.

You are not discovering anything. I spent far too much time learning that.

And I have been studying and growing more successfully than you ever have perpetually this whole time.

But keep talking. You were saying again and again about yourself??.........

He's right about smell, sort of.
I expect a certain amount of smell which changes gradually over time. When they suddenly get stinky, something is wrong.
I've got three sativa hybrids outdoors right now. Two of them smell a little bit and one of them is a stinky pig. The stinky one has issues in the root zone that I just started treating with hygrozyme and microbial tea.

yep, now we need to collectively define

a) Stinky
b) Flushing in hydro
c) flushing in dirt

a) Stinky
b) Flushing in hydro
c) flushing in dirt
a) Stinky = odor beyond that which is usual & customary for a given strain & growth stage.
b)c) I'm not sure about flushing because I don't do it.
Honestly, I think growers should worry more about overfeeding than flushing. It is my opinion that overdosing cannabis on phosphorous will make it harsh -- and no amount of flushing will fix that. The same is true for tomatoes. If you give them too much soluble phosphorous, they will taste like shit and there's nothing you can do about it.

A. dyna gro does not
B. 5 cards of the same suit
C. i'm sure somebody has by this point
D. dyna gro says flush hydro for 1 week, soil for 2.
A) yes they do, and 810 ppm in hydro at week 7 of an 8 week strain is ill

B) LoL
C) Nope, not in this thread
D) flushing is running pure water through a plant pot for one week according to dynaGrow
and flushing in dirt is using pure water for two weeks..... how much water? how often? and the soil builders? they flush every day right?

I flushed water through my hydro pots at res change to prevent buildup on pots. I followed directions and tapered the nutrients to the end, still couple hundred ppm's. I personally ran water through the pots again before harvest to conveniently rinse salts from their duty. took about 3 minutes both times. is that flushing?
I add fertilizer biweekly to promix and water only, till the last couple weeks, then I water when dry. is that flushing? what did it accomplish. I do it(stop feeding) because I still see ferts on the topsoil at harvest and dont like to waste much is all. if knew the exact amount I'd use that instead up to the end.
Flushing 101?
I really dont know the answers, not arguing, but some terms and techniques must be defined clearly before debated aye?

agreed.
I smell this stank when roots stop, plant starts fermenting, stops uptaking, but usually I cull it t first sign of trouble, got no time here for weak kneed plants ya know...... I saw someone let a plant grow till it died, let it dry in the dirt till crispy and tried it. nasty earthy stank rot tiring boring ill effects too.

I have posted this before but here is the president of Dyna Grow admitting he made the bloom bottle due to customer demand. Not plant science. He explains what cannabis does need in this interview too.

Should I trust the flushing agent now?

i give them plain water for the last day. i think of it more as "last rites" before they die than a flush.

bottom line for me, i could care less what other growers do. i do my own thang and am happy with the results.

Why just UVB? Sunlight provides the whole spectrum. You never notice how outdoor plants develop different than indoor plants?

Sigh, I'm pointing to the fact that there are strains that don't amber at all - no matter what or where you have them.

There is a thread about that here.

You really had to ask that? No disrespect but, I've been around the block. A few times and still making laps.....

In respect to outdoors. I do see better expression of ambering in strains that do amber.

Everybody wants a piece of the pie,,,right? Market share is profit! you get enough who ask for it, and just about anybody will break down for the buck potential....

could be UV part of it?

Why can't stoners accept standard horticultural nomenclature for procedures they are performing? Why do they need to feel to invent names for every fucking growing technique they come up with? There aren't a hundred different individual ways to grow any other plant, same techniques, same names.

Everyone needs to feel special, dont they?:dunce:
Let me know when the "hall of cannabis cultivtors" convenes and we can settle on some convention at that time. Until then many of us have been using these nomenclature within context and have some idea of what we're talking about.

There is convention in engineering, yet we still have people capitalizing Nm for nanometer in this thread, It's wrong, but I haven't taken issue with it.

I just feel that there are too many nutes/salts built up in the root mass to have any noticeable effect by flushing. In soil, there is no way to get out all the nutes, unless you repot, but who the fuck can do that with a mature plant.
In hydro, the chems are already in the root ball and the buds, so again, in my opinion it is fruitless to try to flush.
It's all a scam to sell more CHEMICALS, to improve the bottom line of company that makes that shit.

that's how we used to break in the new guys at an old job.

tell them to go get 2 cans of ozone spray from down in the basement.

first they figured out there was no basement and then no such thing as ozone spray.
Careful, I will toss on the red bandana and go Rambo with the Air Lazer X2 ?:bigjoint:

Flushing definitely has it;s place.

I don't take kindly to being told I spread utter bullshit it's not what I do. If I am wrong I will admit it, you've presented nothing that says Im wrong.....

I don't give a fuck if dude uses t5's. I do however care he says they are far superior to everything else. They aren't. But hey jump down my throat and say I'm spreading bullshit with your bold type and red lettering lol.

I stand by what I said, if you're using massive amount of light bulbs with mercury in them it's not very smart when there are readily available alternatives for just as much or cheaper.

People generally grow with floro's for smell and taste this guy says he doesn't have any.... If you're not getting the benefits of floro's why use them?

But hey, here you are agreeing that Mercury is a concern yet you tell me to act like a man... you link shit that is about 1 bulb in a kids bedroom this guys using like fucking 50. in a 5x5....

You're starting fights like a bitch telling others to act like a man lol, you're not arguing anything I have said as being wrong, you're just arguing for the sake of arguing....

I can cover my ceiling in asbestos too I mean it works right? fucking jesus christ.
Lets clear this up.
Here and now.

So what did I say that was bullshit?
ANSWER:
There's a million reasons not to use t5's and very few to use them in flower especially when you can customize your spectrums with LED's super easily. T5's are a waste of fuckin money.
Your expressing opinion, not fact!

You can "customize" the spectrums in T5 just about as well, and for less money....overall.
Well enough to experiment with spectrum, Accurately.

It is still quite the viable choice for small plants in small area's! Others agree too.

Unless it's a COBB LED. It isn't worth the time - in my opinion, and sure as I'm still kicking, others too!

I didn't "insult" you. I sure as hell didn't call you names. Now who lowered themselves to that?...If you got butt hurt - it's all in your mind!

If "I" wanted to insult you.....You sure as hell would have known it was done!

Look, I still respect you. But, it's going down hill, fast.....

thhttp://www.absoluteozone.com/dissolved_ozone_sanitizing_spray_bottle.htmle times, they have changed

The Ozone Spray Bottle runs on batteries and uses a tiny electrolytic cell to instantly turn water into dissolved ozone. The dissolved ozone can then be used as a sanitizer, killing common bacteria and viruses, and can also destroy odor-causing bacteria. The indicator lights show when ozone is being produced, so you can spray the area, wait the required time, and then either wipe the surface dry, or let the surface air dry. The ozone will revert back into oxygen and water, making it a safe and environmentally friendly disinfectant. The reservoir will hold 14oz of water, and the rechargeable batteries are long-lasting, with up to 500 charges. See the "Testing & Regulatory Summary" under the Support/Download tab for time requirements to reduce bacteria.
