The big LED question...

Doesn't bridgelux make epistar and epiled's ? They are pretty much the worst quality LED on the market but like you said, people want those mars hydros and viparspecta lights for some reason...
some people. but HIDs are still the most popular lights among commercial growers. even indoor produce growers up here who sell premium produce to local markets use them and as a consumer i'm willing to pay a little extra for these locally grown, vine ripened tomatoes because they taste so much better. you can buy T5 grow lights at walmart and home depot.they are still the most popular lights for small home or closet grows.because of the short growing season up here many people start their vegetables indoors under fluorescent lights then move them outdoors to their garden after the last spring freeze.

Yeah I've been gandering for a while so will be doing a budmaster cobx4 in a 3x3 as veg light once I've the bucks for her so a journal will be posted cuz if all goes well I'll have the cobx9 in my flowering tent haha
I see Osram chips atlest, thats a good sign.
Still do your research, tehre are many COb companies and I would suggest a cxb3590 over any other COB if you can afford it, or Vero 29 or Citi.

Par watts can be compared to any light as at Rahz stated.
so can lumens. it just doesn't mean anything to plants.plants see light differently than we do. compare the SPD of your light to the measured absorption spectrum of cannabis plants. if you did your research as you instructing others to do then you would know what plants use this spectrum thats missing from COBs for.you could learn a lot from experienced growers here

And argument is an equally THOUGHTOUT presentation of a point of view where the goal is to sway their opinion to that of yours all this is is a bunch of ignorant ppl arguing with ppl that actually know what they're on about but refuse to accept the truth lol the human mind Hates what it can't comprehend so they buy into gimmick like lux n shit
I don't see anybody learning here. To opinionated to learn.. just like to argue.. can't see the truth.. leds are here to stay..
Running 6x 3590s at 50watts 8" on center.. beats the hell out of a 400 hps that pulls 465 watts...
I'm out!

You can get 1.5+ with COB. Yield differnace per grow is well worth it.
Well... with cob it is my first grow and so i will consider myself a noob... and shoot for the 1gpw with my 4 week veg, promix and no scrog. I hear that is very achievable. And if it get that i will be quite happy.

But i intend to do much better in subsequent grows. And when i realign my space for these cobs i will go to scrog again...

Please stop with the goddamm LUMENS.
This is a plant forum not a decor lighting forum.
We speak PAR, PPFD, LER SDP CCT, not Lumens..

It should not even be an argument other than the people on the other side have no idea what they are talking about.
Its less of an argument and more of a one side does not comprehend information.
How the F*** can you come here amnd spew lumens.. lets see your LED grow vs your HPS grow.. likely isnt one just another LED hater.
