You LED users don't understand one of the most important fundamental laws of physics, the law of the inverse square, and it's the reason LEDs lack intensity and have to be run closer to the canopy , preferably on a scrog.

like lumens PPFD or PPF are biased measurements. one photon at 400nm has 1.75 times the energy as a photon at 700nm so a light that produces a lot of red light is going to have a higher photon count than a light that produces blue light if the radiant energy is the same.tri band LEDs (450,630,660 nm) produce a high PPF rating but are not great for growing plants. spectrum and radiant power are the best way to compare plant lights and the absorption spectrum also needs to be considered

These are the same bullshit lies that LED makers have been using for years along with "magical spectrum, make less heat ( what a bullshit lie all lights produce pretty much the same heat based on the wattage) , 1000w equivalent."

Another thing to realize about LEDs is that the leading LED manufacturer is moving away from COBs and powerful chips, and they are focusing their efforts on light bulbs for your house and small chips, there's no manufacturer that has the skill and desire to make horticultural based chips, these LEDs are high bay street lights, basically they are where HPS started back in the 1980's.

No i have a small grow. I can get three 8oz plants out of my set up max. I have about 600w draw. Dont go by what i grow. I'm a simple gardener for personal use. I switch strains and conduct experiments all the time I'm not a cropper at all.

Ive followed grows on here and seen the gardens of realstyles and greengenes and others. With a properly set up room HID can not come close to the w/w yield of a best quality led. Photosytnesis is driven by energy from light . Led provides more energy. How could it be that something less potent is more effective?

I do agree that in particular setups HID is best option.

well if their lights were any good then they would not need to lie so much :):):). remember when induction lights were the hot new grow lights? now prices on those are falling almost as fast as prices on LEDs.my local hydro stores don't sell leds. they claim the hot new grow lights are LEC/LEPs. these are the lights commercial growers are replacing their HS lights with

Sounds like you are talking about things that are beyond you, I live in a legal state and been in some of the biggest grows in Colorado, I am friends with 2 dispensary owners, this is what their setup looks like

all DE lights with big time a/c system and lots of individual tables for each strain, growing in a closest isn't the same as growing for pounds, LEDs aren't there yet bud.

I have corn cob led lights in my house. they are good replacements for CFLs and getting very cheap on EBAY. I think bridgelux is still working on horticultural lights with their full spectrum LED but I don't know of anyone who's working to develop effiecient violet or UV leds.

What ever happened to those indagro lights, weren't they like 2 grand for a 420 watt light with some fancy pontoons? I know they are pretty good for veg and have a lot of UV light but for flowering?

Bridgelux is el cheapo for LEDs, you want cree to be doing the R&D they are the big fish in the LED pond.

I have a bridge lux cob thats been bright as fuck for almost three years. it's over 40% efficient. Even those old gen statistics CRUSH THE VERY BEST DE. Fact

PAR (photosynthetically activate rediation ) is the for front for measurement of the given output on a surface incorporating other techniques of usable light..fuck ur lumens fuck ur lux* get ur shit as close to the sun as possible (300/400-700nm)

Ppfd (photosynthetically photon flux density ) this pretty much calculates how many photons are carried in the 400/700nm wave band so shit can get very interesting so to sum it op I agree with the post above me...next he'll be on about lux
