I do not have a mj card...it is more a jail card atm...lol...but not for long...our prime minister told to a belgium journal that cannabis will be legal before the end of 2017!!!!!.I knew with US leading the way of politically correct it would not take much time for the other country to follow
Good to hear... I remember moving to France in the 60's from Berkeley, CA and being too afraid to smoke so as to not be deported or worse... it is still sketchy here... can't believe CA is lagging... the police still delight in busting folks here in Humboldt County.

I'm not an authority in the least on these lights. I do know volts times amps = watts so a 36 volt COB will require twice the amps that a 72V COB requires to give the same watts. Either way, the power dissipation is exactly the same.

36V is 1/2 the volts as a 72V COB and you need a driver with twice as high of amps to run a 32V COB than you need for the 72V.

So to me, either COB requires and uses the same amount of power and has the same output and heat dissipation.

Maybe someone can jump in to say why 32V is better than 72V?
36V allows for lower voltage and more efficient watts. , Power Formula. Higher voltage higher amperage, lower voltage lower amperage. Lower voltage is easier to control temperature and efficiency of CoB.

The CXB3590 72V and 36V are both just as efficient as each other.
A a 72V 3590 at 0.7A is identical to a 36V 3590 at 1.4A. In efficiency and in output.

The only difference is driver selection.

Many of us use 36V for convenience...it allow a wider choice of driver...if you want to drive them lower in the future!
If you don't plan on use them at 12w go for both...!

I ended up with -C700B drivers, then discovered that 8 COBs will run on one. I think this is a fascinating idea and I'll be trying it at some point.

8 cxb3590 3500ºk 36V CD on an hlg-185-700b is so nice...you can have the plants so close...I was at 4inch with mine @1400mA so you could go closer I guess...I want to try your configuration later when I will have more cobs...but I have to compare the results of 1400 vs 700mA before!
First I need to pull the max from 1400mA cob then maybe...for sure because I will want the new one in a few months!...I will try lower amp!!!
But you need a light who match your grow tech...with low intensity cob you need to scrog or lst to use all the available light...I believe with low intensity you get less gpsq/ft than with higher intensity...maybe I am wrong but with more intensity you can grow taller plants so...there must be a good balance between efficiency and intensity (with the good lens or reflector for your needs! ) I bet on it...lol!
You must be pleased because @700mA it is not so bright so nice for the eyes no heat and happy plants!

I'm very pleased with the light each module already emits with only 4 CXB3590 @50W. I'm even more pleased with the array built with 24 of these modules.

With your cxb @350mA it must be even cold...but healthy I bet!

Just 90 at night lol. I live in the San Fernando Valley. It use to be a desert but they put grass and trees and developed the area. I'm in California where it gets hot and one year it was 110F and 95 at night and 95 at 9am
How much would you charge to make one? I live in the san fernando valley as well.

If I was to use your 8 cob panel layout. Would you recommend using a heatsink wider than 10" for a 2x4 grow area.

What do you think about this cob spread in 2x4 area.
