i settled the stretching by dropping the lights lower. I use a 45 panel and a ufo. I will post pics when i find my usb cable.....;(

I saw a grow thread on here with pics. The guy had 3 12" panels surrounding his plants and they didnt grow for shit. He changed to HPS and it was a world of difference. Thats the only thing I ever saw and it was very very less than impressive. Especially for the cost of them damn things. If you are having success, please share with pics to support. I know there are alot of curious minds out there looking for new ideas and concepts. I'm pulling up a chair if ya dont mind. Good luck

I've never heard of someone getting good yield from LEDs...

I have heard a lot of bad things about them.

It was funny a couple years ago when they came out, High Times did a million articles saying how new and awesome they were, I think it was a marketing ploy, because after a couple months all I heard was people bitching that they sucked and were a waste of money.

I read a study about them, basically the spectrum and lumen output is insufficient for a good crop.

I'm really interested in new lighting technology, I almost bought a UFO to try it out, glad I didn't waste my money IMO. But, lighting technology is the only thing that has yet to evolve. Nutrients are becoming better, cannabis specific... Soil and hydro have evolved with new mediums... Next is lighting. HID technology is old school, sure there are digital ballasts, that's what i use, but they still do the same thing as the old 40 pounders.

If you're happy with your results, that's all that matters, i suggest investing in a HPS setup.

Wow lots of people seem to think LED light are junk did you just post to say that your set up is best and if you don't go HID your not going to grow decent buds....well thats bullshit what it boils down to is if you suck at growing under HID you gonna suck growing under anything even the sun the best dam'n grow light ever made I have a 400HPS in main flowering room yeah it's fast, it's easy,and it puts out 45000 lumen hearing everyone fight the CFL vs HID fight I decided to run a little exp. I set up a CFL cab for veg 2-42watt softwhite and flower closet with 7-26watt and 3-42 watt made hood ect...what I'm seeing when I compair both rooms is slightly slower growth with CFL shorter buds not much but shorter same strain same soil same ventilation. So try it your self and then talk about it I've beed HID for over 10 years the CFL's are great for beginers cause if ya cant grow under CFLs HID won't make anything any better your grass will always grow as good as your limiting factors sorry to jack your thread!!! and I just wanted to voice what I'm seeing here if you want to attck me PM me. dude grow with the LEDs wade through the BS and have a good grow I'll subscribe cause I'm going to run a led test to at 5 weeks flower on cfl so I'll start in 4-5 weeks...I'm sure they work well I wonder what the light spectrum is on all the diff LED out there ? no offence everyone.....To each his own

Mornin....."stretches" I would like to say something that may look bad because of my love for leds......but the led market....for growing......never should have let out tons of shit product and expect people later to buy them...wait......its worked for Microsoft......anyway...all joking aside Leds are definately great for growing....and like everything else....there are good- better -best in every market. I would love to see someone put a rad fuckin design of cfls -hps- and leds and do a bad ass grow......then make it affordable and safe for the general public. i can dream cant I?

this means dick shit to the rest of us, I've seen seedlings do ok under led, but the technology isn't out there, even the distributors say that.. I'm calling the bullshit card on this show us proof, walmart a usb cable is 10$ obviously you can afford to throw money away if you bought a ufo.

honestly......no offense......but im in here to share and I never said my set up was the best...i said I have the best set up....for me. Peace....im out. really thats interesting, where did you read that they dont have a good spectrum??

igrowwithleds you have to realize there are a lot of trolls on here with nothing better to do than talk shit, you have to remember they are the best growers, with the best equipment, and the best yeilds, they are a lready perfect and dont need any talk of another type of lighting. LOL! Do your thing, the morons that bash LEDS are to stupid to realize that you have to start somewhere, you cant jump straight to the perfect light. These people will be all over leds when the technology is perfected, they are just to lazy to understand. Dont worry somebody else will figure it out for you guys, just sit there and bash

i dissagree, there has been lots of disscusion on LED's and the cost and effectiveness dont compare to HID lighting, also the intensity of the lights dont compare. nobody is bashing his grow ( which we cant see ) just giving our opinions of his lighting choice. The technology just isnt there yet.

Yeah, when LED's are comparible to HIDs in cost and light output I'll be on them like stink on shit. Until then it's just not worth spending $600 to veg my plants.
