Hey everyone....just saying hello....im the new guy. Im on my 4th grow....3rd with leds and wondered if theyre any led fans in here. Please share. Thanks....time to burn one...

I was considering using LEDs with my forst grow but could never get a positive review on them. What do you think bout them? How have they worked out for you so far?

Whatever you do, build the lamps yourself, don't buy. It doesn't even really depend on skill level there are great tutorials out there for you to learn and the cost of pre-built lamps is staggering.

Lets see what you have. Got any specs?

leds tend to be costly and insufficient

not being dogmatic, but a whole lot of talk on led grows with NO pics ever. How are we suppose to support it when we have seen nothing, not even 1 finished product on this site. Proof is in the pudding. but GL

i will have pics i promise. I didnt build them myself but did research and bought 2 different kinds. I love them. I have newbies in my "germination station" and have been doing fotos since the first sprouting. I figured out how to stop the stretching i had in my first two led grows and just added nutes yesterday.....i promise....pics soon!!! peace

Not that I am totally buying this without pics but what where the cost of your lights and how did you set them up for both stages?

ive seen pics on here of a grow using leds, i will see if i can find it. buds were crappy if i remember correctly.

I would just like to compare notes because I am researching it myself and putting things together to build my own as well.

I basically took this idea:

high power LED grow lights M.k2

and then modified it with 10 mm LEDs in the center, 5 mm leds on either side, and a bit of space between them and 4 1W high-power LEDs to allow for cooling. The HP LEDs are coming in tomorrow so when I wire everything up I'll post pics and specs. I also don't have a light meter yet (another part of my automated DIY planned) and couldn't find the $8 home depot model some have mentioned so I can't tell you lumen/mcd output yet.

i love mine. i looked around for a while and ended up going with a company. so far so good....

Ive only ever seen people use these along with HIDs But i remember the days when people tryed to grow with ultraviolets lol I think some day they will have good leds but at the minute they yield like clfs . There is no intencity from leds or cfls even when using a cooltube with a Hps takes some of the intencity away and the buds are never as good . At the min Hps is the only way to grow good bud indoor

im doing a grow now....with pics.....had intial strtching but things have turned around nicely....added co2 and lowered my light.....very strong nebies for a soil grow.....peace.
