Cool rig. Thanks for sharing. Tents get holes btw. Mine
has little bits of tape stuck to it here and there.

JD
Just use some reflective material inside the tent, holes are gone lol. Tents take a very short amount of time to tear down and stashed if needed (renters). Peace!!

Very nice looking cabinet GR, and the big positive over a tent is you can attach or hang to any wall or ceiling. When I put my room together I had drywall on the 2 walls that adjoined living space, I sheeted the other walls and the ceiling with plywood. in retrospect I should have pulled the drywall and sheeted those in plywood also. The drain shelf is a great idea. Looks like it will give up alot of service time.

And I'd go for the big multi plant pot (considering you're using clones of one strain). You can even rig a screen of sorts directly to the pot or the dolly and it could have a larger footprint than the bucket. Go for it.

Here's what I've been doing. I'm doing a 9 lb Hammer grow. Popped 5 $16 seeds (Subcool seems to be really proud of this shit) 3 girls 2 boys. The one boy showed balls after one flower light cycle. I had the separate the kids and put the boys upstairs in the bath I'm remodeling. Photos taken at 10 days. I've done some lower clean up and had to install support rings already.

They are kicking it, started at 18" now 28" basically an inch per day.

Thanks Watt,

Yes I like the cabinet but it would be nice to be able to grow in and open room.
As far as the multi plant container, I am picking up the medium today so should have this knocked out soon. The clones are going to require some training because on plant is already much larger that the others, that sucker must of rooted in a week it is almost twice as big as the others.
Will consider the screen thing but since I am growing that many plants not sure it will be needed.

TWS, your plants look grea,t where are you in the grow process?

Day 35 of 12/12, 35 +/- days remaining.

Things are just moving right along, knock on wood but they are just doing great. So far it is such an easy strain to grow, and it's beginning to look fantastic. Buds are a little airy, but that is expected for a bit longer then they are said to fatten up considerably. Stretched more than I expected, but still ok for the cabinet.
Here are a few pics.
First three are BW5

Overall plant height from soil line is 30" with two cola at 31" and thats with them bent outward.

Here are some clones, four of #1 & Three of #5, they were taken when I top the Mainlined plants for the 8 cola
I put them in the bigger container (13.5 gallon) that was set up Hempy with 70/10/10/10 coco/perlite/damn I can't remember the name of the other material/worm castings.
The material I can't remember was given to me by my hydro shop guy, full bag, said it's to use instead of perlite, I will look it up tomorrow. I mixed it half and half with course perlite.

It was cool to do and looks bitching, but once I watered it and tried to lift it, I said to myself, this shit ain't gonna work.
So today I sat about doing what I know how to do and set this up. My good ol' 2 gallon Lowe's buckets. I did set them up with the 70/20/10 mix, was able to salvage 95% from the big container. These will veg and get healthy till next week when I am going 12/12, that will give them about a five week start when the others come out of the cabinet. I will be flowering them under my SS400 during that period then move them into the HPS cabinet.

The two plants to the right of the Hempy's are the mother plants of 1 & 5, grown in standard 4 inch pots, straight coco. Going to transplant next week into two gallon smart pots, coco.
CYA later,

Ok, these are the two mother Black Widows taken when I made the first cut in the Mainlining/Manifold training method. They were put under 12/12 along with other three BW's that turned out to have balls.

7 clones fin the blue Hempy's and the BW mother #5 to the left and BW mother #1 to the right. Pictures taken last night, have since put the two mothers in two gallon smart pots. More on this later.

When the two mothers showed sex I put them back under the lights and composted the three males.

The mothers have been under T5's 24/7 since February 1st and they are continuing to produce female flower parts.
I just put the clones under LED 12/12 and they have been showing females parts for the past few weeks. grown under the T5's also. I figure this is a good thing for these clones as they will get approx 5 weeks of flower under the SS400 LED then when the two BW's in the cabinet now are ready in about 5 weeks the clones can go right into the cabinet to finish under the 400W HPS

Now here is my question, is it common for a plant (the mothers), that should be converted back to the veg state, to continue to produce female flower parts? I can only figure that the T5's are not producing enough light for these plants to go back into their veg state.

you have such great updates.

looking great
Thanks Buddy, guess it is from all those yrs writing reports. Damn, glad I ain't doing that no more.
What you think about the continuation of flowering after being put into veg again? Perplexing!

Hey GR, the girls won't really stop making pre-flowers. If they did then I'd freak, thinking they are heading to the other side. So it's not unusual. And the clones you cut later will continue this and be ready to hit it at the flip of the light. Speaking of light I wouldn't keep up the 24/7 schedule and kick it back to 18/6, they're old enough to need some sleep.

BTW I'm sorry to hear about the balls, and I'm glad to hear you could just chop them, I always think I can control them HA! Just stamp the L on my forehead now.

Thanks guys,

Good to know about the clones as I put them under 12/12 yesterday. I am concerned about the mothers though. Your saying that I should cut the light back to the two mothers? I have always used 24/0 in the veg stage, but it makes sense in my case as I don't need the two mothers to be going full bore right now. This is my first time to grow mother plants and if that is what it takes to keep them in that "wanna flower" stage then I will drop the light time. I definitely do not want them to hermy on me.
This is not meant to start any kind of argument but I am not sure about the plants need a dark period. Cannabis is a C3 plant and as such does not require a dark period, it can photosynthesize continuously with proper light.

I just looked this up.

Shoot, I can't believe I still remembered that from collage after all these yrs. One thing I didn't know was Ed's comment on the % of more growth under 24/0 compared to 18/6. I would have never guessed 33%. Hey, it's Ed Rosenthal, he can't be wrong! Or can he, only the Shadow knows. LOL I have read a number of his book and s number of his articles and the man knows his stuff.

I use 24/0 for veg, but I am going to put the two mothers under 18/6 for awhile to see if it slows growth and keeps the plants in a ready to flower mode. I won't be taking any clones till late summer so if anyone needs some BW clones come and get them. LOL
I did notice tonight that the clones in 12/12 even after just one day have begun producing more pistils and are are growing well, so maybe a fast stretch.

Peace out as usual,

GR

Week 6 day 42 of 12/12

Today is update day.
Not a lot to report other than they are doing fine, not much in the growth area. Drinking a fair amount and the buds are getting bigger. The two different pheno's are cool, BW5 is a bit tall and thinner while BW1 is a bit shorter and got fatter buds.
