World Of Hempy

Have a question for everyone, doesn't matter what nutes you're using. Feeding as per the schedule on the bottle/s. Would you feed your Hempy as a recirculating or non-recirculating schedule? Reason I ask is because it kinda fits into both categories but I'm leaning towards recirculating. I aerate my tap water for about 24+ hrs before use. Then mix my nutes and let settle for about 15-30 minutes before feeding. Thanks for all thoughts n comments. Peace!!

Sorry Shaggn, I don't understand what you mean exactly? ... I feed when my Hempys need it. ... I don't recirculate, the waste run-off goes down the drain.

Meant as in strength by their reccomendation on their label. The strengths are different as in for recirculating 2tsp per gal or non-recirculating is 1 tsp per gal.

Reason I ask is because when I started with hydro nutes. I went straight to the lucas formula. Currently looking at some other nutrient companies and seen the difference in feed strength. Just trying to get a better idea before I fry anything lol. Thanks

Sorry, I tend to say things back halfwords lol

i think he means the feeding chart, there are usually two charts for each nute line, one for circulating and another for non

lol i was a little late on my post my b. I'd go with non recirc because its not circulating in anything, making it a non circulating. correct me if im wrong though, but i think go the lower dose and make sure you feed especially when you notice theyre deficient (increase dosages). I'd say for figuring out your nute schedule though relate to the non circ feed charts

If its something I don't have first hand experience with I start with whatever the lower dose is and adjust up from there. If they look good I leave it alone. I'm currently using the low dose of what I'm using. It's in the 1000ppm area and I have to ph down a little. I could drop the ph by running more nutes but I don't see a need at the moment. I don't try to push a plant either. If its a good shade of green and growing well I let it be.

Ive never seen the 2 separate charts you guys speak of.

Maybe the guys at the hydrostore have been holding out on me. LOL

edit:
tbh ... I start at a sensible dosage and work up.

First of all why the switch from GH Flora, in going with the lucas formula? Which nute line are you looking at to change to? Pretty much all of them will work with the 0-8-16 mix ratio.

I think one of the beauties of hempy is I can pour nutes to each plant.therefore experiment and see what happens without losing more than a plant or 10?

running floranova bloom start to finish...one bottle

Just searching for some other options. Looking at Dyna-Gro and a couple of their other products. Still very much enjoy GH and the Lucas formula. Only problem I had was a slight N - deficiency but that was in Pro-mix Bx. I've read on this forum and a few others of other people having the same problem with GH. Hence why I went back to the 3 part. With such a fine group of people in this thread, best place for some hands-on knowledge :) Also to get a feel for what everyone else uses for their nutrients and possibly why they choose that product. Peace!!

This kinda makes me think that recirc formula has the higher nutrient concentration due to the active flow around the roots and a possible reduction in absorption rate. The non-recirc nutes stay around the roots longer so the concentration is less to keep from burning the plant. But, then again in an alternate universe, everything could work in the opposite. Maybe the oxygen uptake with the recirc makes the plant grow faster enabling more uptake of nutrients. The non-recirc doesn't need as much due to a lesser growth rate without the oxygen fix. Shag, you are gonna have to flip a coin on that one...

So I can't go a day without sticking my head in my tent, even though today was a feed/water day. This is what I have been looking at in amazement.
Tx, going a day is a long time....bring that down to 9 hours for us working stiffs. Then, after work, when home, the only zipper in the house that see's slightly more duty is not my tent. I thought I would get used to the amazement one day...never seems to happen.

Very good point, Jela!! Looks like the best way is to try one at the stronger strength and keep tabs on its health. I just thought maybe because I oxygen enrich my solution and as the roots only sit in the actual solution for a day tops. They may or may not burn. We will see. I will take some before and after pix and post my findings :)

Shaggn, have you looked into Blue Planet nutes? I'm using them and they are doing great. Decent priced compared to lots of brands I've seen. I'm running their 3 part elite plus liquid blue bloom booster. Think I paid around $80 with delivery. Gallon each of bloom, micro and grow and a quart of booster.

Anyone ever heard of or tried this? Was browsing the web and cake across it. Sounds reasonable in theory.

So there is a new growing method out there that is getting talked about, its called the “12-1″ method.* Its a way to grow plants with less light, and less electricity, saving you money and creating a more affordable or profitable product.

*12 hours ON, 5.5 hours OFF, 1 hour ON, and 5.5 hours OFF for each 24 hour period.

There it is people, you can’t really do better than that.* 24 hours works, but its overkill…and so is* 18-6 lighting cycles.* I have used 18-6* before and it worked, so did 24 hours for vegetative and flowering 12 on 12 off, to trick the plant into thinking its fall or harvest season (shorter days, less light).Cannabis* from the*Greek word kalamos which means reed or cane,* and sativa means “useful”… you figure it out. its a weed and it grows like one, pretty much no matter what, unless you water it too much.12-1 application, if you want to reduce your power bill further 75-80%.** Then follow the new schedule for 12-1. Switch your timers to 1/2 hour on 1/2 hour off, 12 times, then put 1hr on middle of night period, you have just cut your veg power consumption to 7 hrs, plants stay in veg, in fact you can reduce even further to 15 minutes on 45 minutes off 12 times, 1 hr on in the mid night period plants stay in veg.

From a different forum several people are using "blue planet nutrients" for there hempy grows. There's also in the works of a hempy grow chart by blue planet. I myself use house of garden and dutch master Drain to waste. I Will be doing a comparison of the two in the following months to see wich is better for my growing style.

I have checked out Blue Planet and already was in contact with Corey to figure out shipping costs to myself. Unfortantly don't have the coin atm, but it is one brand on my list. Thank you for the mention as I have heard nothing but good things of the line and of Corey for his kind and helpful service. :)

Very interesting, I will be looking further into this!! Props for sharing :)

Yeah I have, I for one dont have a timer capable of the schedule. For two, my shit hermies easy enough as it is, and I have a feeling it "may" make an unstable plant hermie easier.

Corey is a great guy, I've been in contact with him myself. I'm looking forward to the feed chart for hempy as well. The other forum you mentioned is probably where I foujd out about them too. Lol
Its a Jilly Bean kinda night
