I'm so thankful for my Hempy plants, we are expecting 12+ inches of snow tomorrow and Thursday, so I won't be able to get to them right away...They are warm and I watered them all today...

Hey watt,
With the full soil cap on 100% perlite hempy, did you find that the soil cap altered the daily watering schedule that's usual until the roots reach the res?...oc+ is looking good to me so far!
thanks mang,
be easy woh!

With a soil cap I treat it like a soil grow, and water when the soil dries out.
When I transplant my soil cores into the 2 or 3 gal buckets, I don't have to water them for at least 4 days sometimes 6 days. By then the roots have set, and they generally explode with this watering. I look forward to this wk off from watering.

IMO the soil core and cap act like a sponge, due to the pete-moss in the soil. And the perlite is really good at wicking the rez to the soil. So this leads to a higher moisture level in the body of the perlite. The soil will also reduce evaporation which helps reduce watering frequency.

But when the hempy machine is in full stride, even with 3gal buckets I've had to water every day (outdoors) every other indoors

Just remember every bend and length of ducting and also your filter will reduce your suction. Adjust your main inline fan accordingly.

Also your intake fans for your tent are too big... 600cfm in and only 400cfm out.
That work really well just make sure the box is sealed tight and the tube has about the same length.
Oh I see. Well explained 808 .. Maybe this video can give some ideas on construction.

thanks for the head's up, i went to water today and was actually just about to, but the soil caps all looked still wet from their previous drink 24hrs ago so I'm going to let 'em be and just wait until they tell me they need something to drink. hopefully they'll only need every other day when they're in full swing too!
thanks again Watt,
Be easy, :leaf:

The wife thinks I've been over indulging, so I told her starting tonight I'll just have 1 joint, 1 beer, & 1 shot of tequila

Had to stop by the head shop and liquor store to get ready for the new less indulgent me. (Already had the A&W "SHOT GLASS")

My beer of regularity at the time of my quitting was king cobra. 2 40's every day after work usually did the trick.

Here's a pic of the OC+ Hempys. I think they speak for themselves when it comes to how they respond. These look far greener than anything I've accomplished using Lucas.

You like that perfect trifecta too eh...Cozadores Reposado is my fav for the tequilla end of it. Gotta have my Widmer Bros. Hefeweizen though to smooth things out. Jay's are nice too...in place of that 2-hit bong rip stone...gotta taste that sweet leaf. After all we work hard for that taste.

These are my clones a week into 2L and 3L bottles after they showed roots, on a time crunch to have them done when I start my next grow.

HG 6b 002.jpgHG 6b 001.jpg I'll start them flowering in another week.

Dank, that is the prettiest shade of green I've seen in a while..just got a new Sony HX30...charging it now to show how "not green" my BF LSD's are (more like "Olive Drab")

Damn DrD I'm thinking I may have to bump up my OC mix. I sure don't see any burn, at 2tbsp/solo cup

Here's my runt at 12wk it's a completely different pheno, the other 4 girls all had fans of 5 leaves top to bottom, & the top 2/3's of the plant is all very narrow sativa leaf. This thing has 9 to 14 (2nd photo #14 looks like a hangnail) with wider more indica looking leaf. None of the fan leaf has yellowed or dropped, I think it will take at least 2 more wks.

Watt / Jela10, thanks for the compliments. I was wondering what the right amount was and couldn't remember if it was 1 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon. I went with the tablespoon think "shit, if they start to burn up, I can always transplant and flush." But, they appear to look good!

Watt, couldn't see your pics, but look forward to seeing the results. I've been wondering how these are going to be through flower and will run them straight OC+ to see.

Based on the looks of these and the great info you guys have provided I may have to give this a go and experiment with a couple 2L's. Very impressive!!
