high everyone,

this is my first post here.i have 2 ceramic mogul sockets that i took from some old mh shop lights.i am planning on using them with 150w ecoplus cfl. the sockets only have 2 wires and my cord has three wires.i do know that the extra wire is a ground. my question is why is there no ground connection on the socket itself. the sockets have these little metal brackets screwed to the base of the socket for mounting. do i hook the ground wire up to that bracket? any help will be appreciated.

the ground should be connected to any metal on the fixture.

If I have a mogul socket with the mounting screws, I could connect my ground to the mounting screws?

CouldI also connect the ground to a 5" to 4" venting pipe reducer? You know the ones that are made of aluminum I think. I dont know if they are metal or not.

Could I also use a metal bracket and connect the ground wire to the metal bracket? The metal bracket will connect my socket to my 5" to 4" venting pipe reducer.
