Will my PH go down to the optimum range?

I mixed up a batch of organic soil 5 days ago using LC's Soiless Mix #2. I added 1 cup of lime like the recipe said to do for 1 cu. ft. of soil and the Ph is at about 8.0, I couldn't find any powdered Dolomite lime so I ground up some Granular dolomite lime in a coffee grinder which I read about in a different thread. I've been keeping it wet and turning it every other day.

So my question is... Will my Ph go down to between 6.0 and 7.0 within 2 weeks when I'm having to start my new grow?...or should I chunk this batch of soil and start over?

Has anybody used this recipe? I could use some help from somebody with experience.

Soiless Mix #2:
6 parts Pro Mix BX or HP / Sunshine Mix (any flavor from #1 up) / Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Light Warrior
2 parts perlite
2 parts earthworm castings
Powdered (NOT PELLETIZED) dolomite lime @ 2 tablespoons per gallon or 1 cup per cubic foot of the soiless mix.
If you use a 3 qt. saucepan as “parts” in the amounts given above, it equals about 1 cu. ft. of soiless mix and you can just dump in a cup of powdered dolomite lime.

Yes, it will go down. Not sure if it will in 2 weeks or not, because even grinding up the pellets they won't be as fine as the powdered.

If there is a Lowes in your area, they usually have the powdered.

I'm running LC's mix #1.

Did you also add the blood, bone, and kelp meal? What about Myco's and BB (Beneficial Bacteria)? That's what gets everything cooking.

Well i ground up the lime pretty fine... but I actually think my Ph might even be a little above 8.0...And yea I add some mychorizae powder, high N guano, high P guano, blood, bone meal, and worm castings, but no kelp meal. Is that gonna make a difference? Oh, and my base soil is Fox Farm Ocean Forest.

Well, with the blood, bone, and the quano's, you have the N and P covered, but not the K.

Finding a good source of K with organics is a bit problematic and kelp or seaweed is about the best source.

Yes, it will make a difference.

I'm trying to do an organic grow where all i have to do is water it with plain water or maybe an organic tea every 3rd or 4th watering. And Fox Farm doesn't have enough nutrients to make it til the end of like 9 or 10 weeks of flowering.

BTW, Where do you think my Ph will end up, and how long should it take?

Whoa! FFOF as a base?

LC's mixes are pretty much use nute free medium, like ProMix or the like.

With FFOF, it's going to be pretty hot, more like super soil.

How much is mixed up? cf?

pH will get there, but not for a couple weeks or so.
