Will light leaks make the plant hermaphrodite?

assuming plants are on a 12/12 cycle, and when the plants are on the night cycle there is a little bit of incandescent light on the plants, will this effect them?

If so then i need to think of a way i can get airflow into my cab without letting light in

yes light leaks are bad. depnding on how much, it could hermie them and also slow down the flowering rate and could take longer to finish.
if you get a couple of 90 degree elbows, spray paint them flat black inside, and put them together back to back like an S shape and install that for your vent.

took me a couple times to creat a good working "light trap" it was taking like twice as long to flower a plant....IT SUCKED!!!

Sounds like his contraption worked, though.

EDIT: Damn. Wrong thread. Meant to comment on the kitty-bong fiasco(guy puts cat 'inside' bong to calm it down, cat doesn't move on the entire ride to the humane society). Kind of funny it worked out here too....

If light leaks caused plants to hermi, every plant grown in the wild would turn hermi from the moon light.I used to love full moon nights to check on my plants, walking through thick brush with no light is no fun.OPH

Leaks are bad. Darker the better (but a full moon can be kinda bright, but we indoor growers need to go past what momma nature gives.)

But a plant that gets severe light poisoning (beyond light leaks) and remains female is a GREAT candidate for breeding. ie: its a strong female.

yes bright lights that shine dirictly on the plants , but natural light will not hurt them at all. for example my window is not blacked out so when my lights on and off is6am to 6 pm its still light outside for about another hour. my buds are hard big and dank. no sighn of hermie. and this is how i do all my grows.
