Thats correct Australia doesn't have a major party as far right as the Democrats. But that doesn't make the Democrat's far right to American politics. It's just Australia like most of Europe is much further left than America.
Our two major parties are Labor (Social democrats,left of centre ) and the largest party (currently in power Federally and in most states) and the Liberals- Conservative party. Right of centre.

You have two Conservative parties as the major two. Republicans- far right bordering on Fascism and the Democrats a Conservative right leaning party. Like England we had working mans parties and strong unions- still have them so to us American politics is conservative. If America adopted compulsory voting id wager the Democrats would start catering for the majority of its members and become less conservative. Until then your stuck with two Conservative and hence right wing parties.

Its very strange that Americans are more concerned about punishing the person who published the war crimes than the fact that they committed them and the people who did commit war crimes are largely /if at all, were not really punished.

For instance Our Liberal party.-Our Conservative and right leaning party paid extra welfare payments over Covid as well as paying business to keep and pay staff even when the business were closed. Sole traders were paid 19k in the first year of Covid to help stay afloat. The Liberals support Universal healthcare and were the ones to introduce gun laws here.
So yes our right is not your right and would be a far right party here.

I think you are making the mistake of judging our Democrats by the very effective sea-anchor of our obstructionist Republicans. The fact that any of Biden’s (party’s) initiatives passed is a minor miracle.

Other countries have left leaning parties due to Unions and working mans parties that didn't take hold in America.

So you think America plotted to murder Assange over an allenge hack which has a 5 year max sentence? They just keep making as many charges as possible for his extradition and then lock him up for life- not the 5 years the hacking charge would be. All this money and bad press for America for a small crime? Nope.
Its about control of the worlds press.
