Welcome aboard.

I just checked the clones and have roots forming on 2/4 them, probably another week before their good enough to pull. Not too shabby for 9days with horrible city water in full sun. I added a few more last night as well so I think I'll throw them a bone now and add some big bloom.

Thanks. Now that things have stretched out a bit I took about 40 cuttings. It's a tad preemptive but there was a lot of crap at the soil line and I don't want to revert to veg with them. I'm going to just let the OG's stay for now as well. I'll probably just start more seeds tomorrow for cloning.

The white russians deficiency seems to be in remission and two more Hindus have begun to flower.

The tally thus far:
12 - known females
8 - known males
14 - undetermined and of those 8 are feminized

I'm happier than a pig in stink.

Starting in on week two. I pulled brutes out from under the light so the girls can spread their legs a bit. I haven't decided what to do with the males yet but so far I have one nice jack and white russian. So far no new signs of males but there was a couple more confirmed females.

Here's the lot of outdoor autos.

and the indoor guys. much nicer if I must say so myself.

I had one of the OG Kush go full blown male on me so that might be something to play with. It has some very big, rubbery fan leaves but it's a bit stretchy with little branching. Several more skirts showed up with about 3-4 more undetermined.

It's not really the male so much as the strain. Those are both traits I'd like to get rid of personally. The Jack and Agent Orange both have really nice structure and are predominantly indica so I'm leaning towards them.

The automatic Hindus outside are in flower and won't amount to much so I plan to cross them with something. I'm not sure if the ruderalis trait is dominant or not but I like the growth indoor so far.

Here's some pics of the male stock.

I got some Super Lemon Haze seeds in today as well as ufos and qt freebies. I'll probably look at starting a hand full of fem plants to veg out a few weeks. The UFOs were Jock Horror and Rocklock.

I started two Super Lemon Haze this morning, pointed end up. As well we have a kindegarten experiment brewing in the window sill, bag seeds, planted both up and down.

For quite some time now I've practiced seed oriented planting which allows for the quick, uniform emergence of your seedlings. While this concept is practiced widely throughout agriculture it rarely gets mentioned in the cannabis world.

If you've ever started a large batch of seeds before you've probably noticed the random pattern plants can emerge in. A few today, a few tomorrow, some possibly taking up to a week. Or maybe you've transplanted from paper towels to find your root spiraling inside, and later unable to break the soil. Or maybe the seed that has emerge, hull intact, and unable to complete it's cycle.

Often times we are inclined to believe that these plants were runts, predispositioned for failure, or simply not vigorous. The true fact however could be that simple orientation has delayed their emergence. This is one of mother natures many tools for promoting bio-diversity by stunting or culling our plants.

By taking the time to familiar yourself with your seeds and locating the end the raticle will emerge from (pointed end), and placing this end towards the surface, you can achieve a faster, uniform, and more successful emergence rate over non-oriented planting styles.

Crops that sprout evenly, mature evenly, and crops that mature evenly, have better crop yields. While this may seem insignificant or go unnoticed with small crops, for every additional plant you have, this delay in emergence has some negative factor. Farmers spend buckoo dollars for high tech seed orienting equipment, we're lucky to share the pie for free.

Found a fuckin' stinkbug eating an Agent Orange. I had to eradicate his ass but got stinked in the process. Then I found a blow fly hanging out. Any other critters?

Other than that... nothing spectacular. Lots of water today. I'm thinking something like 12 gallons now and needing it about everyday.

Finally got the camera tweaked for the HPS. We're ready for budshots in a couple weeks.

seems every male i get gets so much lankier than any female of the same strain, but maybe thats just luck idk. ill be stickin around here though. props

That's usually been the case for me as well. This OG male seems to be the rule breaker though. If you look at the third picture.......... the line of plants with the blow fly is white russian and the one to it's left is either OG or OG18. The've got a massive stretch between the nodes on them but the male ened up rather short and compact.

Looks like the bag seeds don't want to sprout but here we go, less than 72 hours, no pre-germination methods. Nice smooth arch, hull correctly aligned to slide off like a condom. These puppies (yes theres another) will both be basking in light in another 6-12 hours.

Tried and true works every time.

Looks like the stretch has settled down and everything is starting to fill up nice. Rearranged things a bit to even the height under the lights. I've been weening them off the nitrogen and it will be flower nutes from here on out.

BEEEEAAAAUUTIFUL GROW MAN!!!!! sorry for shouting but im envious!! love the strains, can wait to get some seeds in so I can have some new killer flavors!!
I've finally got some sprouts up, and it's long overdue for this show to hit the road.

This will be my first grow in about half a decade and my first
real indoor garden. In fact it's not quite finished yet so this will be a build-and-grow journal. I've always been successful outdoors but my only indoor attempt had a few problems.... the primary being piss poor planning and budget. This time I don't have a reason to let either of those get in my way.

Here's the low down on what's going on.

Grow Area & Equipment
16'x18'x8' bedroom (using 6'x8' area)
2 - 1000watt Hortilux Super HPS w/ Lumatek ballasts
2 - Cool Sun Reflectors
1 - 12" Vortex Fan temp controlled w/ thermostat (80f)
1 - DIY Carbon Filter
1 - Window AC Unit

This is an older pic of the room and it's since been painted with Kilz white. I've put in several anchor points in the ceiling for manipulating the space and coverage area. The windows and floor have also been covered with black poly. The other lights will be used for a dedicated flower camber, with a fifth lamp undetermined.

The exhaust is currently being pushed to the attic by a 12" fan through a 6" recessed light fixture. This is not an ideal setup and more of a temporary solution. Eventually I plan to run a 12" pipe down the center of the room to a carbon scrubber housed within a window unit.

Clone Closet
5'x3'x8'
1 - 4ft T5 blue spectrum
1 - 4ft T8 daylight spectrum
1 - 30 pot DIY aerocloner (1-on, 4-off cycle)

The biggest two are JTR at about 8 days old. The rest started emerging on Sunday. The OG's, Cole Train, Sour Cream, and Bubba Kush are all about 2 days behind. Those are beginning to break soil and should be up tomorrow.

twin sprout Jack the Ripper

The plan is to veg everything for about 3-4 weeks under 1000watts and spread out to 2000w when needed. The known feminized strains will be dedicated to clone making and moved outside to continue veg. Once the regulars have been sexed and flowered the clone army will organize a followup attack.

That's about it for today folks. Feel free to question, criticize, or spark up a bowl and stay tuned for the updates....
