Hey all,

First time poster and complete noob. That being said, my first grow and I'm sure I'm screwing things up...but it's a fun learning curve.

Anyway, one my plants has this leaf (green on one half, white on the other).

Anyone ever see this before? is it indicative of something missing or something not done correctly?

Inquiring minds would like to know...

looks like a mutant, they most usually turn out to be great plants (high wise) how does the rest of the plant look?

Rest of the plant is looking good although I'm having a Bitch of a time trying to figure out sex (if it's possible yet). They've been on the 12/12 schedule for about 2 weeks now. I'll post some additional pictures, but they're not that great. I'm thinking it's either too early or it's a male....UGH.

So, here are a few others. Generally the leaves are big, green and healthy...just that one small white striped one. Being a self admitted noob, is this a boy or girl plant? I'm regretfully thinking boy. Or, is it too early and give it some time? thoughts?

does look boyish but kinda hard to tell, looks like pistels in pic 2 but everywhere else looks like balls

wait for other opinions, or get a better closeup of pic 2

Its an obvious dude. sorry

Obvious to those who've done this before ;-) No sorry needed. It's all a learning game right? I'm just happy I hadn't killed him with my inexperience. I'll most likely continue to keep him and his brother (some guys have all the luck eh?) under the 12/12 until my next batch of 'just popped' seedlings are ready to start a 12/12 cycle then prune the boys down and make butter or something.

That being said, is there any benefit in continuing to grow them? more leaves, more (albiet not a lot) THC if they mature more?

you can collect pollen to make seeds later (and I would from the mutant) you can learn with em try lst, supercropping etc without worry, you can test nutes on em to determine most nutes strain can take without burning, contrary to popular belief boys have lots of uses

though thc content not all that

what strain are you growing and how old? this is an ak47, outdoors, about a month old (still vegging). wierd huh..

Dude! you have to clone the branch with green and white leaf... I am fascinated by this...its like Discovery Channel, but for pot heads... :)

as a side note to the discovery channel theme, taking the place of ancient discoveries we have someone who's growing a plant germinated from 15 yr old seeds on another thread in this noob section.. Educational entertainment the whole family can enjoy.... ;)

†screams dramatically† nnnnnnnNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

well, in the intrist of science you could breed the male, won't be as good, as it forces you to use another plant to do so and therefore no pure mutant genetics.... the xmen will be shattered, now who will help them save the world? No one, thats who....

Defintely weird. to answer your questions, it's bagseed and they're about 2 months old or so. Too bad they were boys. got more seedlings going from the bag, we'll see if any sprout funky leaves.

first of all its white cause theres somthing wrong with the leaf. might have got bitten or bored into near base of left side killing or blocking nut to that side of the leaf. but dont take my word on it clone if u want.

Sure, kill all our hopes and dreams of magical mutants with your "science" :P
Your prob right though, won't know for sure unless you clone... :)

I am a gardening nut and have seen variegated forms of hundreds of plants. I see no reason why marijuana couldn't produce a variegated mutant.
