When do little flowers start to get bigger

OK, This is my first grow. Lots of mistakes along the way-mostly fairly amusing. I have most of that stuff worked out now, I am using the little bubbleponics set from StealthHydro (which I like quite a lot, Dual Spectrum Bubbleponics™ Complete Kit).

The two ladies left seem healthy and have lots of little flowers with beautiful fuzzy white pistols. They are a little leggy as I let the veg stage go a bit long - but they have nice top development and seem strong. HOWEVER, I swear the little flowers are not progressing in to bud. I just have no idea what to expect, and I have not kept a good time record, but it has been like six weeks with these little flowers and no obvious change.

Do I need to change the nutrients (I am just using the ones that came with the kit, I will get more in to that the next grow), perhaps need more light? I am light leek free, growing in a closet with great air, no yellowing or burning or wilted leaves (some leaves die off, but not an alarming amount). Any ideas? Does it just take a long time?

Pics (the upload tool did not love me so I will host)

great pics, you will notice popcorn size nuggets in the next week, and then they just get larger fast. i usually notice the most bud growth between 6 - 8 weeks flower

Those pics are about a week old, I will take some tomorrow and do a compare. In my imagination they got bigger, but I have a fairly overdeveloped imagination so ya =)

It has been a wild ride. I really goofed up the light cycle thing - I was waiting for the plant to flower to change from 24/7 to 12/12, ya I know, duh. So my plants got a little big for the bubbleponic set. My grow room needs a little help, some mylar would go a long way, a better balast/reflector. I like the CF lights because they are nice and cool. The plant seems to like it fine, though looks like it could get easily crowded.

This grow I sprouted three MYSTERY seeds from a stoner friend and three "skunk" seeds I orderd. Those were male, the mystery seeds are what is left, lol. Now I have some "Ice" to try next round. So I am feeling impatient. But it is so exciting, they are my little babies. I am just an old hippie having fun gardening =)

Hey jenny... everthing looks great.. just try to be patient and you will see things start to progress... make sure you are using nutes that supply all the plants need. stay on that 12/ 12 light schedule . your flowers will not be huge with cfl lighting so dont expect to much... good job, good luck

Yep. CFL's are great for clones and vegging, but to produce nice, dense nuggets, you need a lot of light. Try a high-pressure sodium or metal halide lamp. If you like the CFL's, you might do better with the new LED grow lights. They don't need a ballast, don't produce heat, and provide exactly the spectrum of light the plants need. Try High Tech Garden Supply for deals on lights.

Oh boo, this is around 6 weeks =(

Do I seriously need the HPS? I am very nervous about the heat, the plants share the closet with some other stuff, I am not very tidy. Would more CFL adding Lumens help, or is that just silly?

Seriously, I do not need or really want giant production, my consumption would never keep up lol. But I do want nice quality, flavor, and the satisfaction of "made by me". Kind of llike when I bake goodies or make pretty baubles. It makes me happy to make...

here is a pic from today, does it look bigger?

If all you are using to bud that plant is one cfl bulb then you are probably at your max potential for bud size. Add more lights and you will add bud size for sure . If they have been flowering for 6 weeks already then they should be getting closer to finishing and they definately do not look finished. But they do look nice!

There are two cfl bulbs, but not ideally placed. I like those tents, I wonder if I could make one, ohhh. Then I could move the operation out to the garage. I was thinking to hire a maid soon and cannot figure out what to say about my big beautiful closet with a padlock on it haahahaha.

My thought is to do smaller faster grows, but I pulled a cosmic fail. I am going to pick up one of those Reflectorized Lamps I think, looks like a nice bit to add for flowering (the CFL was FINE for the growing, I could place them very close and all the babies were happy)

If I had money to spend...which I don't ! I would definitely look into one of those portable growing tents. Get a "cool tube" to keep heat out of the tent, and get like a 250w HPS HID lamp.

IMHO - CFLs in a closet are NOT the way to grow bud. It's like raising a Clydesdale in your garage. It's just not gonna work for very long.

Hate to disappoint you, but don't expect too much so long as you are under CFL lighting.

Best of Luck!

:leaf:dont buy the glow panel!!! lol, i did after that first magic seed i dropped sprouted, back then i barely knew plants needed water. anyway, the panel is more sad than useful. the plants kinda patherically move towrds the little leds. I had 2 cfl and a panel and nothing really happened, so i went out and bought a 400 watt mh and hps light the euro tube cooling system form htg and today my tent 4x4x6.5 just got here. i only using a 6 inch duct fan to keep semi cool, bout 88 right now, hot here tho, anyway i wish i never bot that panel, what a waste. on u tube they have a comaprison grow with a ufo led light against a hps and it kicks the leds ass. u tube mj videos are great. just type m:-Parijauna!:weed:

Yeah, if you are giving them 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness every night for 6 weeks, they should be more developed than that. Those look more like plants that are trying to flower while still in veg.

Your CFL lamps should be as close to the foliage as you can get them without burning anything. Two inches is too far.

The more light during flowering is directly relative to the amount of bud produced. If all you can do is add more CFL's then by all means go for it.
