When can you actually give rep?

Everyone has something different to say.
How long or how much rep do you need to give another person rep?
I heard a million different things, someone tell me the truth

If u have two bars or less it's pointless



The more bars of rep u have the more rep u can give to people

Hmm, can't exactly remember. I think you either needed 100 rep points or 100 posts for your rep to count.

The more you have, the more you give.

Click 'my rollitup' and you should see your rep total at the bottom of the page.

You should be worth a few points.

Use the FAQ. Check your Rep on My Rollitup and click the Sheriff-Badge-Icon-Thing. If everyone tells your something different, then utilize primary research.

Ya sweet, I have 110 points. does this mean I can give rep?

Why don't you just try to rep someone and findout? I wasnt even aware of this,swore i've been repping since day 1. IDK. If you go to "my rollitup" i think it tells you how much you have.

A dissenting opinion ... some of my favorite rep is "gray rep" from a newcomer on a Newbie or Problems thread. It meant I provided real help.

Sonar and Budologist, you rep was worth 30 points total so about 15 each.

I barely get rep but I get alot of likes.I try and help people as much as possible,be funny,and compassionate.I only give rep for the same 3 reasons.I give likes if I agree with a post or think its funny,or helpful.

I just randomly click buttons and see what happens. So far nothing has blown up.

i think likes has taken over from reps

i completely agree with the bit about gray rep. it's nice when a new guy/gal needs advice and i'm able to help them out. it actually means something as opposed to the 300 points i might get for just making a witty comment.

Is it wrong to ask for a rep after you just finished a helpful writeup for them? lol
