Just went to the shop for a kilo of mussels to steam with some white wine and herby garlic and ended up with over 2 kilos for the same price :) Gotta start getting myself hungry pronto! Gonna take me a while to get through all of those.

i was gonna have some fruity pebbles but THERE'S NO MILK
That's fucking tragic. Seriously. I hate that. Especially if it's early in the morning and no store within a 100 mile radius is open (slight exaggeration). But. Then I remember what it was like to have to go out at 4am and milk the flippin' cow to get the milk for the day. Usually the old heifer was in a bad mood and didn't want someone playing with her titties. Nine times out of ten she spent the entire time trying to kick the damn milk bucket over or smacking me in the face with her tail.

Yeah, driving to the store doesn't seem so much of a hardship after all. Never mind. :p

I live out in the sticks. I would have to drive 20 miles into town on bigfoot and skinwalker infested roads (In my mind). I hate driving at night. I just know an alien or bigfoot is going to get me and eat me. I'm stringy and tough so they'll have a fight on their hands.

close as i ever come to a cow is on the grill ;-)
I've been up to my elbows inside a cow. ::shudder::

Tell me about it. We're supposed to have one roaming around by the river. We live by the river. I hate going outside at night. Comes from a childhood of shutting up the chickens after dark and having to walk down a long dark path. A path festooned with trees and evil older brothers.

I made green chili burritos for tonight:

1.5 lbs. Hamburger finely chopped

4 medium sized pods roasted hatch green chilis peeled and seeded and finely minced.

5 cloves garlic finely minced

salt and pepper to taste

Flour tortillas and butter/margarine

Brown hamburger in medium size sauce pan. Brown and finely chop. Let meat brown for 2-3 minutes. Just long enough for the juices in the meat to be released. Add finely minced garlic and chili and mix thoroughly. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook until meat is thoroughly cooked. Warm up tortillas (I heat mine in the oven on the rack) and butter one side when warmed up. Place tortilla on plate and fill with meat mixture on buttered side. Roll up tortilla and serve.
